Congrats on that, TG

Tgentry totally deserves to win (though I like the sky harvest much more) but on latest entry I have to correct you Adder, he posted this on a Monday morning and on the Blues derby the other week I posted on a Monday afternoon almost 4 pm and got first

BTW Adder is your name any way connected to the BBC show Black Adder?

The submission says 8PM, not AM, so I think it's still on point as the latest. But I did have to check yours to be sure, because I think you may have broken the record yourself with The Binge. Which is pretty dramatic either way.

And c'mon, with a caustic personality like this? Of course it's a reference!

So.Much.WORD to this.
I customize vinyl toys as a side hustle. There is no way I would consider selling something or putting it up for bid if I'm not 100% satisfied with it. Just...NO.
So when I see stuff like this from any artist, it makes me scratch my head. It's like saying "This isn't even up to my standards but meh. My name alone gives it the legs to stand in this comp." At least thats how I see it. If YOU aren't that happy with it, why not just sit this derby out?
For the record, I'm not on anyone's side here-I buy what I like (which has included Ramy and Seki shirts). But as I said before, this design doesn't seem to have the same craftsmanship as some of the others that it has ranked ahead of, and that is disheartening. I would respect the artist more if he had just let this one go instead of submitting half-assed designs.

he doesnt pull it because he has no respect for art. only for money. ramyb, its unlikely you will step back into this wild debate and explain how you have demonstrated:

respect for rule following artists

respect for the rules

respect for the contest

and respect for yourself and your art

for the record seki, you ad-hominem slinger, you childish name caller, i was the one who provided the initial link to adder as i have a friend who is into anime cons and knew i would find it interesting. and i have before had information delivered to me by PM when making a stand against an artist i have a problem with. i know its hard for you to believe that people have integrity and caring, but it is the truth. the sooner you and your consort accept that, the better you will be at making your way in this world without recruiting enemies

This is awesome -- hope you get to the top 3 'cause I'd buy one. And another; a friend's birthday is coming up & she loves her some squirrels.

Good luck!

GMV... Great design, nice tie in to the theme, and a different slant... I find it rather a boor that most of the vote-getters feature the reaper... BORING!

Very interesting to see that at 8am, you've doubled your votes and are at the top of the hotness with 46 votes.

I work in cardiology too, admin side though. I sent this to a co-worker and asked if he thought it would be appropriate for casual Fridays.

I haven't bought a woot shirt in a while, I think I just might have to pick this one up.

Same thing happened to my shirt. I get 10 votes all week, then on the last day I am suddenly in the hotness with 46 votes. It has happened to my shirts 4 or 5 times in the past too.

Yeah, it happens on occasion. While I personally don't know anything about it, my suspicion is that somebody up near or in the fog might want to keep the competing designs out of the hotness by voting up a group of designs which are NOT competitive, like ours and almost all of the designs in the hotness right now, reducing the chances that one of the competitive designs which are close might catch fire today. Frankly, I have spent zero time involved in this derby since it became clear the first afternoon that our design was going nowhere.

Recognised it as being by the same person that did Little Hands due to the crack running through it. You add that to all your promos to give them a little more texture?

I usually don't care for Drakxx's work, but I have to admit, this is the perfect combination of his macabre style and the subject matter/season. And I can't believe I'm saying this, but if this prints, I'm buying it. I need some new Halloween stuff.

They need to print this one as an "editor's choice" with the eyes in glow-in-the-dark ink.

I agree it is a great shirt, and would be a lovely addition to the mix that we currently have. The only problem with it...plagerized design. Seriously, put it in photoshop and all doubt will be removed. The design is just rearranged, it all skews the same, same color values, just add a green layer over the blue, blah blah blah.

Unbelievable Woot doesn't reject this one.

So somebody who's trying to make a living should just not try if it's not their 100%? Just because somebody is not satisfied with something doesn't mean they should just say, oh well I don't want to get paid this week. Sometimes food on the table is more important than satisfying the lynch mob on shirt.woot. He should just trash the design and not even bother with it after already investing time? Life is full of compromises and you have to do what you have to do to survive in this world.

I'm sure you know if anybody waits too long to refine a design the chances of winning goes down quite a bit, unless it's something everybody really loves. Can you honestly say you put 100% effort into your day job every single day? You have never done something that was not 100% to your liking before? Anything? If you say you put 100% into everything you do you would be a complete liar, as would I if I said the same.
