Nope. Flavoring goes in last round these here parts. That's how the Top Ramen folks instruct you to make it anyhow, and how I always have. Boil noodles, add spice packet, stir, devour. Rinse and repeat.

1. I didn't think about Johnny Cupcakes logo until it was mentioned.

2. The aforementioned logo use two bones instead of utensils, has a cherry ?(or something) on top, and oh, yeah they use a friggin' cupcake. If you people eat cupcakes that look like muffins, you need a new baker.

3. This design GMV, because it's great. I love muffins, and I love pirates. Combine the two? Instant win.

Ignore all of that and you still have nothing cooking here.

Nothing cooking at all here. I see a rejected in your future. The explanation even doesn't mention cooking.

Interesting desing but doubt it stays.

I'm having trouble with the "ability" comment. He uses the same technique for every shirt design. They all look the same to me.

Also, I would like a shirt I could wear all year not just Halloween.

woots x 6
shirt.woots x 14 - 3X Randoms Total Shirts--> 23
kids.woots x 1

Total Woots = 24

Because he/she gets to giggle with his/her little friends about how mad people get when they do this. I suppose they figure it is like stealing gum from a convenience store without the danger of being chased by a clerk with a shotgun or the police.

However, they should know that regardless of whatever fake information they may have created the account(s) with, woot has their IP address, knows exactly who/where they are and can provide that information to the proper authorities if necessary.

True(although because of the utensils there could be a case made for it). But to disqualify this design based on that fact and not the countless others that are similarly themed around "food" and the Derby would have very few eligible contestants.

I'm all for sticking to the theme, but if Woot decides to enforce it all of a sudden the rejections should sweep across the board.

I think this is my favorite design in this contest. It's making me want to go whip something up just to lick the beaters and the bowl.

Re: Nothing Wasted

In defense of this design just being about food:

a) The Pillsbury doughboy isn't food. The whole point is he is or was cooked.

b) There's nothing to say he isn't currently being cooked. The fact that the biscuits are still aligned side by side like that suggests that they are still being baked or were just pulled out and are still on the pan. Either way, I think that classifies as cooking.

I like it, but I think you need to explore color a lot more. It looks like coloring this was a real chore for you. Get back in there and have fun with it! GMV if you can address the colors and make the witch pop.

I loved the preliminary sketch. This version lacks the charm of your original sketch. It's hard to tighten a concept to keep the same energy and feel as the sketch; I often have the same issue.

Best of luck.

I like the visuals, and I love brown, but I'm not familiar with the song. Because of that maybe, I don't see the theme. I get that they're herbs, hence ingredients, but I don't see the act of cooking.

It's a really visually pleasing design, though! I like the color choices; the cool green vs the warm greens with the intense violet. Much respect for the designer!

So. Much. WIN.

This must print. It simply must. It is marvelous work and in my opinion, one of the top 3 designs in the Derby. Simply amazing shirt.

thanks for the comments and votes!

Since these are extremely common cooking herbs, I felt the theme was clearly evident (like using salt or pepper)... certainly it's up to the powers that be to decide, but the confusion might be because of overlapping themes like harvest, BBQ, etc where some designs work for multiple themes.

He looks cooked to me. And yeah, the way they're laid is out how they'd be on a baking sheet, not on a serving plate. And the distressing in the background could easily represent the scratches on a baking sheet.

This represents cooking to me, for sure. And since I've been known to tell people that Thanksgiving is like my Olympics, I think I've got a decent eye for what's cooking-related.

Re: A Dangerous Concoction

I really like the kettle and kitty... they deserve more front and center placement and I was excited about this shirt when I saw the thumbnail.
Unfortunately, the flames are a bit huge for my tastes. If the flames were less then twice the size of the kettle I think it'd be better.

Also the shirt has 3 good elements: kitty, kettle, flames, but I feel it needs at least one more element that really solidifies what the shirt represents in order for it to be a shirt I would wear.
