I'm glad you did submit, though I agree with what's been said about her complexion I reallyreally like this one a lot marzipanapple.
Best of luck with it, and also getting your .psd back.

Same here about the complexion, but very very cute and nicely done! Love the little frog reading with the vials and the strange language and all those details.

Re: Cabbage Roast (Resub)

@icymallard - heh, glad you liked that design so much! Sorry it didn't win for ya;)
Sure I will try to remember to do a royal blue design some upcoming derby.
Thanks for watching! I do have a bagel bear design up too, in case you haven't seen that one. (Linked it since my signature isn't showing up).

@misskari - I know what you mean, I saw that when I was making the thumbnail... I was trying different sections and when I came to that part and thought hmm that looks a bit like a joey in a pouch!

@sydskid - Yes... unfortunately:/

Thanks, truffleshuffle (nice username, btw! Goonies never say die...). I was trying to keep it clean and simple, so I'm glad you think it's both!

Chaosegg wrote:I really like the kettle and kitty... they deserve more front and center placement and I was excited about this shirt when I saw the thumbnail.
Unfortunately, the flames are a bit huge for my tastes. If the flames were less then twice the size of the kettle I think it'd be better.

Also the shirt has 3 good elements: kitty, kettle, flames, but I feel it needs at least one more element that really solidifies what the shirt represents in order for it to be a shirt I would wear.

Like maybe an element of "cooking".

Crinkle cut fries are just like other fries. Careful or this potato superiority thing will catch up with you.

I'll get a breakfast bagel on poppy, plus a cream cheese on pumpernickel for lunch. Yum! Then I will be good for a while.

Yum is right! I love poppy bagels! Hope it's delicious and satisfies your craving... I still need to satisfy mine though!;)

Re: A Witchy Brew

I think a complexion change is an absolute mistake. Right now the focus is where it belongs on the fogs cooking her in the kettle. If you add the green to her face there won't be adequate contrast between the goop and the witch and it will look off. If you do choose to resub please don't remove this one unless it is overwhelming that the new version is better.

re: muffaneer

The first thing I thought was "wow, this guy totally ripped off Johnny Cupcakes." It's a gooey-er rendition to be sure, but I could see the brand making a completely justified stink about the design. Which is a pity, as it's pretty cool.

You stuff is always my kind of cute, and this is no exception.

I love the colors, but I did like the cat hanging onto the witch's hat in the sketch you posted. Still got my vote for sure.

Thanks everyone!

And Drakxxx, I loved that cat too! That was one of my favorite parts about the whole drawing, but when I colored it, the cat ended up being a big distraction from the main event. I wasn't sure if I could get away with leaving it uncolored while the frogs *were* colored.

If I do a second version (I've decided to leave this sub alone), I might just add it back in and make it smaller.

Definitely an awesome lighting effect! I've always wanted to do something like this, but like icymallard said, the color limit makes it quite hard. You've done a great job here though. I love the linework as well.

Haha, the sign change makes all the difference. I love the 'squeaky' look of the octopus. As in, if I were to poke it or hug it, it would make squeaky clean noises.

Re: Maybe Mommy Won't Notice

Those flames are so huge! I wonder what she's trying to cook?

The only thing I'm going to nitpick on this design is the perspective. The stove is flat on the ground, but her feet are at an angle. Either the stove needs to change its angle, or her feet need to be on the same level/angle as the stove's bottom.

Her expression is pretty funny. She looks pretty surprised to see all that smoke, hehee.

In my original submission, I thought that two "naked" lobsters in a hot tub was too absurd to have been inappropriate, but in retrospect, I dislike the sexual connotations. Hopefully this is more family friendly.

Ya, I realized that the feet looked a little off after it was already posted -___- I always seem to miss something. She was trying to cook something with oil and the oil caught fire! Oh noes! That's one of my greatest fears when cooking. Or you know when someone else fries something without using a cover of some sort and oil pops off of the pan and coats another burner, and then you use that burner afterward....I hate that.
