NOT A VIDEO GAME REFERENCE!

TMNT were comics first, then cartoon then game then movie!

Bad call imo.

Re: A Dangerous Concoction

hey ramyb, could u put a jar of mayonnaise on blue or red for the next derby entry?

id rather vote for that than this.

at least then i could say, this is a jar of mayonnaise by RAMYB. and i would be proud.

im being serious.

I see that the thought bubble is somehow ambiguous. The intention is that the panda tries to justified eating the egg by arguing eggs are not chicken.

dlh2689 wrote:I like the changes in the background with the bamboo trees. However, I'm not really digging on the thought bubble. I can't picture a panda wanting to eat some chicken. I liked the peaceful panda from the first sub a lot better. Still voting on this one though.

I could not find the not-equal-to sign anywhere in all my computer fonts and had to draw it manually. And I see people got away with arrows this week. Personally I think arrows are more qualified as "text".

Hey, thanks for pointing that out; the JPG is from a slightly earlier version before I caught the two slightly different yellows.

This is what's in the final ai:

Pantone Red 032 C (Vermillion)
Pantone 2415 C (Purple)
Pantone 361 C (Lime Green)
Pantone 276 C (Dark Blue)
Pantone 309 C (Dark Cyan)
Pantone 115 C (Lemon Yellow)

(on black)

EDIT: Rejected anyway... Dang.

Re: Iron Chef

You're missing a shirt comp, so this won't get far. It's a clever idea, though, and is a pop culture reference that actually qualifies as parody.

Read through the derby rules and resubmit, please

I absolutely LOVE this shirt! If it doesn't print you have to find a place to print it cause I really REALLY want it. I would definitely buy one.

Even if this didn't suck, the black outline wouldn't show up on a brown shirt.

Hmm, not really.

This is just my second derby. I wasn't sure what to expect. People interpret rules differently, and I was on a different end than the woot judges.

Great shirt. Awesome design, I like shirts that use more than just the middle of the front. The shading is great, and the character is very expressive of the situation, i'd buy a few!!!

Re: Resub - ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!

Changes:

Moved to the back of the shirt.
Added the microwave plate.
Shirt color now royal blue.

Ahhh, the childhood memories of putting marshmallows in the microwave...and the thrill of having them battle it out with toothpicks.

One thing that may help make the design pop a little more – is to use a little heavier black outline mostly on the dragon & his back scales, wings ect. So. . . that the green is better defined against the green shirt. Also you may want to think about putting it on a medium blue shirt, a better contrast.

Thanks for the compliment and the suggestions. I think this late in the game we'll probably be leaving it, but we're in a constant state of learning.

A lot of those suggestions will help for things to think about in future derbies.

One of these days we'll hit the right derby. Until then I suppose it's just a matter of practicing.

Munchy Attack If you can find the name of this artist & real song title I'll buy you a daily woot shirt (your choice what day)

Dystopia Dark Lager, Where the Wild Parties at?, B.A. Bearacus, and many more wanted in XXL(PLEASE!!!)
Edgar Allen Poe shall remained headlock'd until Nevermore is reckoned.

Not arguing your point against you, but why haven't you posted this complaint on other designs that do the same thing? You seem to be so determined to police the theme and a little bias, why are you only arguing this in here?

Your technique is superb. Beautiful border and gloss!

Maybe it should be smaller on the shirt? I am not so sure about the composition.

That is true. I didn't want it to be any more than a shadow. The snake is pretty sweet when you see it up close.

Fair enough that it looks terrible. It doesn't even work well on a shirt. But hey, I just taught myself inkscape a couple weeks ago. This is my third design (the previous two REALLY sucked). I hope my next one only "half leaps into the vacuum". And someday maybe "mostly doesn't suck". Yankeebird, it is up to you to keep track of my suckiness factor.

Haha. I am amused by your word

Great design though. I would definitely buy it if it is on a different color shirt and the root part is better executed.
