I'm just re-drawing attention to this post which shows a shirt of the exact same style and idea; the only different thing is the season. This needs to be rejected.

Am I the only one who doesn't understand this shirt? Where are the bears? Are those ant eaters or deer? Are parks known to be redundant? It just seems this idea was pulled out of thin air with no relevance to contemporary culture.

atshephe wrote:This. One of the better examples of an existing "similar" shirt has already been posted. Personally, I think that woot needs to have some guidelines about what dictates a shirt being too similar to something that exists already. Is it simply the idea? Is it the overall design?

In the "Blues" derby my shirt:

http://shirt.woot.com/Derby/Entry.aspx?id=35123

got rejected because it was too "similar" to this one:

http://www.threadless.com/product/1380/Bunyan_s_Blues

If this one doesn't get rejected than as far as I am concerned, woot's bias towards some designers will be confirmed.

Seriously? If that was rejected for "too similar" than this needs to be rejected for "too similar". But I see the first round of rejections are in already.

I really like this design, but I think you really stopped short on the color department. It feels incomplete to me. I don't think baby blue fits with this either. Might just be me since I'm not a fan of baby blue shirts, but I really feel like this could do a lot better as the potential is definitely there.

A normal departure would be an original shirt which this is not. (Scroll up 5 or 6 posts.)

Once again your design is a total win. I can't understand why you aren't in the fog every week. Do you publish shirt designs somewhere else? I would very much buy some.

Not hopping on the anti-Ramyb bandwagon with this. This is a good shirt, a good design, and since I am not female, I would wear it.

Although, I can't wait to see what the flamers hash out this time.

thanks everybody so far on comments! i took it easy on the colors to get more of a "camp" shirt feel to the design. don't get me wrong, i love lots of color but i personaly felt that this was the best way to go with the colors. thanks again everybody!!!!

If you look, they have weird little antlers. Deer, I'd say.

Haven't you ever been to a national park? There are lots of signs, usually, saying 'don't feed the wildlife' or sometimes 'don't feed the *insert specific animal here*'.These show up a lot (or seem to, at least) so maybe that's where the redundancy came from.

Or perhaps redundancy was just pulled out of thin air- boots made up a national park, used 'redundancy' as the theme and went with it. I don't know what's not to understand- people also imagined Mordor as a national park, and someone else went with the underworld. They're just made up (or re-used in the case of Mordor) national parks. I think, also, if it said 'please don't feed the deers please' that just wouldn't fit with the shirt, what with the deers being upfront and talking. Or at least, I think would have not been as good as using bears.
