I thought the movie ratings were covered by the MPAA's copyright. I believe Marvel Comics ran into some similar issue a few years back.

Edit: It says here that they trademarked all their category symbols.

isparabola wrote:I'm not sure if I dig the choice of doing a front+back design for this.

I think it would have worked better as a full frontal design, that way everything is clear.

Although I like the fact it uses pretty much the entire front of the shirt and it would probably have to print much smaller to fit all of it on the front, which leaps into the vacuum.

Either way, this is good.

I appreciate the input there, and there were definitely discussions about placement, but ultimately we thought the NC-17 back print would be a fun surprise.

The funny thing about this shirt is that the NC-17 picture, without the previous series of pictures, is probably the one best suited for the "G" rating since it just looks like they're hugging/kissing (what with the size difference).

Of course, all of us up this late have lost our innocence and think only dirty things. SHAME ON YOU

god, i loved eek! the cat. not as much as i loved the thunderlizards though.

when the tickle-me-elmo craze hit the winter of 96 or 97, i initially thought they were talking about elmo the incredible elk. thats how much i loved that show

Then the shirt really would have been NC-17! *tomato'd*

Nah, I like having the little bonus back there, would've been too crowded if everything was in the front. Big Jublin fan, ordered.

This reminds me of when I dropped an 'F' bomb in a rated R movie, only to have some guy in front of me turn around and tell me off for cursing in front of his young daughter. I'm pretty sure it was during the movie's semi-sex scene.

Brilliant, Sir. Brilliant.

The crowdedness is an issue. I guess overall I just don't really notice back designs on shirts. I cant see them when i'm wearing them, and I don't really look at peoples backs a lot.

Its an awesome shirt and I may get it anyway.

Can you wear t-shirts at your work place?!? If so I envy you. Floor staff (concessions) must wear an oxford style shirt with black pants, management (booth/projection) must wear a suit (yes, even when running the projection booth)

Way too many woots

that would be relevent if it were a trademarked logo, but copyright protects similar ideas. for example, i cant create an anthropomorphic cartoon mouse named mikey

Hey guys, was this just a poke at sex or also most excellent sex? Cause it looks like 2 dudes and it's really true that most excellent sex is almost always nc-17 or unrated.

Edit:can i not say homosexual's synonym which also means happy?

Clever. I won't be buying it though, since I've already got a strange enough relationship with cartoon animals (not like that)... This shirt would turn me into a beacon.

The MPAA needs to be blown up in a thermonuclear total annihilation and filed away permanently with Jack Valenti's rotting corpse.

That's just beyond stupid that sex is so bad that no one under 17 can be allowed to see it, but extreme violence is ok as long as your parents say it is.

The shirt is great though! :-)

Please do not increment my Quality Posts count. 69 is a good place to be. ;-)

I had to get this because I JUST got done watching a Netflix movie called "This Film is Not Yet Rated" which very-much opened my eyes to how biased and corrupt the MPAA really is. You should all check it out.

Also, I must say, I love how the colors on this shirt pop even though it's mostly black (and gray).

Absolutely! How many parents will take kids to violent films, yet block their eyes when someone kisses or flashes some skin.

Those attitudes are the scary ones. Why are we so afraid of sex?

I love this shirt. It expresses something my husband and I have noted so many times when interacting with other families.
