Ikonos71 wrote:I'm guessing by your username, you are an Iron Maiden fan? I can definitely see a little bit of Eddie in this one, and the general feel of an Iron Maiden album cover. Very well done, I like it.

Yes, Iron Maiden has been a favorite of mine for about 24 years now and introduced me to well constructed heavy metal music with talented musicians and history/literature based lyrics. I am now a big fan of power metal (complex compositions that tend to be heavily influenced by classical music and renaissance style). Extremely talented musicians, as well.

As far as Eddie goes, I have always been a fan of Derek Riggs' work, and the eyes (and sometimes the facial stucture) in any of my more wicked little drawings are definitely heavily influenced by him.

Thanks for the comment! Glad to see someone likes it, since no matter what I put up, I don't get much in the way of votes. I really thought this one would get a few more than it did. Doesn't matter since I still like it for my own collection, and nothing I could do could even come close to Drakxx's 3 entries this week!

Re: He's right behind us, isn't he

I find it hilarious that people couldn't tell the dog was a zombie in the previous submission.

With that said, the backdrop looks really plain, but it took me less than a second to figure out what's going on. In the old one and the new one.

I honestly think that, even though I believe a lot of ramy's stuff is recycled, those who hate simply play dumb and cherry pick on the design's logic, rather than the art behind it.

I agree! I like the little tiger better than the original kitteh. I hope this shirt wins - I'd totally buy like 9 of them.

Anyone?

The point is that they're much, much too similar to this design conceptually, which ought to merit another rejection for this design. Frankly, it's not that hard to do a quick internet search to see how original one's idea is.

That's no excuse, considering how much thought and work the Drakxxxs, Bootsboots, Tegentrys, infinityloops, beefmoes (I know they're two people), and more put into their designs to make them professional looking and wearable.

Oh, please. The logic of the design in this case is one glaring issue that popped up as a result of changes made from the previous design. The comments of both feature plenty of critiques on the art.

I am getting sick of the designs myself. However, I think that everyone that had a comment along the lines of "why are they in a line?" or "what is the dog supposed to be" are just playing stupid.

you wouldn't have to take this one down or withdraw it, just put up another one and see how it does.

I wouldn't think it would detract this one from getting votes, either.

Actually no. Both of those statements are design critiques. Especially in this version of the design. In the first they were on the stoop apparently getting candy and there was at least something which might have reasonably distracted them from a zombie dog eating an entire animal and picking the bones clean.

In this design the cat is nearly turned towards the dog. Are we supposed to believe that they just sat there dead eyed and stupid in a line while they watched and listened to the dog devour an entire animal flesh, muscle, intestines, ligaments and all? There's a certain amount that we can reasonably be expected to suspend belief but this is just stupid.
