Re: but srsly it's mai pumpkin

Well now the derby is over so I'll answer a few questions.
1. Why did you resubmit this entry?
I liked the design a lot, it's probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite design I've ever done. I was very sad when it was rejected, although not that surprised after people posted links to various shirts on cafe press. I didn't think it would win with the resubmission (and it didn't) but I could at least give it a chance, and if it did, then I would be extremely happy to wear it.
2. Why didn't woot reject it?
I didn't expect the resub to get rejected and it's not surprising to me that it wasn't. The similar shirts that exist are of a black cat in a pumpkin. Black cats have a specific association with Halloween. If there were oodles of shirts with various things in pumpkins, then maybe my shirt would have been rejected, but there aren't, and there definitely aren't any shirts with tigers in pumpkins. I'll give you an example - there are probably a lot of shirts with Santa in a sleigh. It would probably be rejected if submitted for a Christmas derby. But there probably aren't any shirts of a mailman or a plumber in a sleigh. They are still people, but the shirts are no longer similar.
3. Do you have no respect for anything?
First of all, the people who say that this is a slap in the face to Woot or the rejectionator are laughable. Woot doesn't care. If it's not a shirt they want, they will reject it and go on their merry way. It's only a slap in the face to people who hate the design because it was rejected and they were so happy and then it was back. As for the design itself, I spent a lot of time planning it and working on it and trying to make it look cute, and in the end I was pleased with the result, so I do not feel bad about posting or reposting it. And while I appreciate the other shirts in this derby, I won't be buying any of them while I would buy my shirt even if it had been done by someone else. So people just have different tastes, and I think it's unfair to be persecuted for liking things that the vocal minority does not like.
4. Stop pandering!1111
As I've said many times, I only do shirts that I would like to wear. If you look in my woot/threadless closet, the shirts that I buy are similar to the shirts I design (with the one exception of oversize prints, but of course woot can't print those).
I think that's everything of importance. If you feel the need to respond to this, feel free to send me a PM as I won't be checking the thread. Happy Halloween everyone.
