It seems to be hit or miss. Some people had no problems submitting, others had to wait until just now. I'm not so sure it has something to do with how you do it, but how flaky woots' server is being.

Fantastic use of color (the greys in particular). I love the attention to detail, like the shadow of the gate on the ghost.

Yes, I was tipped off to submit on internet Explorer, and that worked. Can't make up for the lost time, but I believe that should get your design in the running.

See, this is a definable style. Drakxxx illustrates over and over again that you can have a style without rehashing things in a disgusting manner. I know a Drakxxx entry when I see one, but I never feel they are reused or just the same thing plopped onto a different shirt. I wish more people knew that this is what actual style was, vs. just reusing the same scaffolding.

That isn't the problem either. The problem is that it's been done before elsewhere (in this case, x100 times), and Woot doesn't permit designs that have been done before elsewhere. Cuteness, worthiness, taste, concept, etc are all moot - this design clearly violates the rules that Woot laid out.

Of course, it's up to Woot if they decide to reject the design or not. It's their contest, and their rules. However, it is up to the voters whether or not they want to vote for/support a design that clearly violates the contest rules. It saddens me to see that so many want to do just this.


As a clarification, I don't hate Seki as a person or as a designer. In fact, I just bought one of her designs ("Imposter") for a good friend of mine who likes cute things. My friend loved it so much that she nearly passed out from cuteshock.

My personal issue has nothing to do with cute. I love cute. Mrwednesday also pointed out that you probably don't know the whole discussion about ramyb and what's up.

It just feels like the same thing he's submitted. Same cat that's sitting next to the cauldron he drew for the cooking derby, as well as numerous other designs. Dog looks like the cat but with long ears and doesn't really seem to be in a costume. The same bunny we've seen before a million times. The background that is more or less the same as the one in 'The Jungle Within'. This isn't crazy ramyb hate, I actually own the jungle within, I like back lit shirts. Why would I want a shirt from any designer with recycled things?

It is just tired ideas to me. Cute has nothing to do with it. I feel almost like ramyb has a comic strip, but on shirts. He uses the same recurring characters, which has its place in many things but not for t-shirts.

That's my two cents.

Yeah it's unclear what is happening. It's best to keep the concept of a shirt simple. I'm sure everyone who looks at this shirt won't even know that the dog is meant to be a zombie.

I like the way the outlines and fill are out of register, undercutting the simplicity and cleanness of the design and just roughening it up a little.
