I'm kind of disappointed this didn't do fantastically, I love this. It's very well done.

theinfinityloop wrote:A lot of us know that you wouldn't do that on purpose Blam. I don't doubt it. But unfortunately that's not the point. It's apparent that you put a lot of thought in executing it and you're proud of it. That's good, but the crappy thing is that's all irrelevant if the concept has already been done--even if you didn't know it. I know it's hard to let go of it, but once you found out it had been done, the best thing would have been to not submit it. You're a great artist Blam. There will be plenty more opportunities for you do something awesome again and it be all your own.

You are wise in your ways and eloquent in your language, loopy. Quoting for truth, as this is exactly how I feel. As for you, Blam, I love your work and have voted it up many a time but--while I like this one--I just can't bring myself to vote for it given the circumstances.

And, once again, I'm just kind of ashamed of the rejectionator.

This is the first time I've voted in a derby. I keep coming back to this design. It is beautiful. I think the grey pattern in the background is perfect; it suggests motion and create deeper intrigued.

I agree. I like this shirt a lot, but after visualizing myself with this shirt on, I'm afraid that it might look more like a fish returning from the epic odyssey rather than embarking on one, especially with the bottom fish's "arms" open in welcome. The title adds a lot of emotion that otherwise isn't conveyed as clearly in the art. But I guess the fun part will be telling the story to curious people. =)

I dunno. If someone asked me to explain a piece of clothing, I'd probably just say that it means whatever you want it to mean. Unless I'm trying to strike up a conversation. Then this could be an easy thing to talk about.

Somehow it didnt surprise me. The only time I didnt get rejected were the time I didnt have any chance of winning.

Let's see if I can get this someway printed.

Very cool image captured in "wild" slashes and strokes. +1

IS there gradient trouble? Or are we seeing smart blending-use of solids grays and black? Can't tell at this scale (or maybe it's at this hour).

Also, wondering, is there a story or reference connected to the image and/or "Red Flew" title?

I know I've said this, but I must say it again.
I NEEDS TO OWN THIS SHIRT!!

....I can not believe that this much awesomeness can be in one image.

Also, it reminds me of this video:

Your art always captivates me and makes me smile huuuuuuuugely!

Currently thinking of Lon & Mr. C and their adventures as polar opposites to Dante & Virgil, and possibly in another dimension.

I believe it is worth mentioning that this is a Pegasus Unicorn. Alternatively, a pegacorn or a unisus.

....Which is more badass than a just a unicorn or just a pegasus, because it has wings like a pegasus and the horn of a unicorn.

See:

Unicorn:
Note the horn.

Pegasus:

Note the wings!

Pegacorn / Unisus / Unicorn Pegasus:

Note both the wings, and horn!
This makes it twice as good as a normal horse.

ZombieGorilla wrote:While I do think it is a nice design, it is frustrating how inconsistent rejections are.

first you have to look at HOW rejections are voted on by woot. first criteria:
* will this make money for woot.
* is this a design by ramy or saki.
* did we pass around enough beer.(after three, vote for thee)
* is my hat on backwards?
* what time is it?
* have we printed this designer before?
* oh god remember derby #59 oh no let it go...pass.

Yeah I'll keep that in mind for anything I do in the future. It's not as detailed as I would have liked, though. Oh well. Next time.

I guess I see why you wanted a shirt called "FAIL".

Are you stupid? I said it should've been rejected ages ago before they let it become popular to save people the annoyance. I didn't say it shouldn't be rejected at all, shirt.woot were just terrible about it.

So yeah, well done for not being able to read then doing a dumb insult?
