Oh wow. This is making me seriously consider doing some... scientific testing... to see which of my 10 cats would most tolerate wearing t-shirts. and then turn as many of them as possible into walking jetpack cats.

I think I love what you leave unsaid even more than I love what is on the canvas.

Re: Your Time to Fly

I would buy this in a heartbeat, it's a wonderful execution of a great (and popular!) theme. My steampunk friends would buy this in droves.

I do fear it may be in danger of the rejector :{. But that aside, fan-tastic job. I love this and would buy it in a store for sure.

Not remotely.

That's like saying Hamlet and Macbeth are the same play, because they both involve a crapload of death, murders of kings, and shakespearean english.

mrwednesday wrote:I like the design and concept but I think there is too much blue showing through on the kiwi. There are looking very transparent and it really throws off the design.

The kiwi have the look of unfinished sketches that just sit on the shirt and blend into the background while the penguins pop out and are clearly distinct even with the scratches of blue showing through.

edit:

I think part of the problem as well is that the silver really blends in with the blue which may be making the blue patches seem larger.

i agree with this. i think the idea is epic, and the drawing in itself is fantastic. i think its great how your drawing has a certain sketch element to it so although it is a cartoon drawing, it doesnt look too cartoony and cutesy. those penguins and kiwis look like theyre badasses.

unfortunately what mrwednesday is saying is spot on, but if that could be fixes somehow this shirt would be perfect.

and a design with a necklace on it is a clear reference to bejeweled.

Seriously, you guys need to get out more. The differences between this design and the game are staggering, despite the similarities.

I was waiting for you to chime in on this since you usually jump on people on people who you feel break the rules, and you're usually more strict than the rejectionator. I figure if you don't think it's a reference it's probably ok.

Any visitors have any concrit for this entry before the derby closes up?

Re: One Flight Per Customer

This design made me laugh

In regard to the controversy, I never heard of yeti sports so I checked it out.

The way I see it is that the Flash game has the penguins as the unwilling victims of the yeti. In Robbie's design, the penguins are initiating this event, even paying for it, and are dressed up and excitedly await for their first experience of flight. The intention is clearly not referential.

I hope the design survives so I can buy it and wear it!

Good luck, Robbie!

It's what I first thought of, but they should be different enough in concept. I'm not really a fan of pop culture shirts in general, however. Probably because I never get the joke. :/

Finley4 wrote:Oh they ran into the moon. That makes total sense and is hilarious because it's funny when people run into stuff. The reason this is getting votes is because, like Pavlov's dogs, some people have been trained to laugh whenever the Internets show them a picture with the word Fail on it. Too bad the Fail isn't on the shirt since that's where the votes are coming from, not the dated and weak E.T. joke.

Sure is you being a grumpy old man.

Regardless this shirt is awesome.
