Thanks!

ya, it's not even swine related or whatever they say. But this is propaganda. It's all about making the masses BELIEVE!! Rally together again a common enemy. HERE PIGGY PIGGY PIGGY. BAM!! Bacon.

Besides, making menacing H1N1 characters would look kinda boring.

I think it's Woots new system. Deeper fog and only non-fog entries in the hotness.

Tis interesting.

You get a vote just for using the word flapjacks. I am not a fan of the term pancakes.

Writing checks in general is among the most frustrating things you can do. It is tacitly saying you hate cashiers and people in line behind you.

I wish this was less just-a-square. I like the piece were it cut off on a square poster, but not so much on a shirt.

If this doesn't fit the theme, they'd have to drop a lot of other really good shirts.

Wow, that's incredibly difficult to read. The script is nearly impossible to see clearly, and the bottom part has so much detail going on at the bottom, you can't read what's written in the contrasting orange.

I get the feeling that even if this was resubbed without missouri in the "south", it would still be rejected again.

This may be one of the lamest rejections ever. Everyone knows Missouri counts as the south. It's a joke state.

Re: RAGAZZE

So, I was checking the Italian on this for accuracy, and when I realized this was based off the Beastie Boys song, I cracked up.

As for that Italian, "dishes" and "plates" aren't really that different in definition from each other via English vernacular, and I believe "piatti" would work either way anyway (whether "plate" like "meal" or "plate" like "dish"). Everything else seems fine, but I'd suggest a couple menial issues. Firstly, while "stanza" does mean "room," I think "camera" would get the meaning of "bedroom" across better, as I believe that's the implication given. Also, "e in bagno" is also perfectly reasonable, but "e nel bagno" would be more literally "and in the..." Nothing serious, but perhaps something to consider if you get a print or HM out of it.

Perhaps someone physically from Italy would be able to confirm even better than I, but in case anyone's worried about looking ridiculous wearing mistranslated italian, you should be safe with this.

whalen25 wrote:Dumb, people use this flag for pride purposes, it's not about seceding. This flag was one of the battle flags, not even the flag of the confederacy. You also didn't pick the right states to color in there such as Maryland and West Virginia which weren't part of the Confederacy.

This shirt leaps into the vacuum.

I think you meant to take out that first comma.

There is nothing to be proud of regarding being on the losing end of the civil war. Even if you ignore the racial issues the implication brings up, you're still expressing your pride in wanting to break free of America. That is what the flag represents. It doesn't matter what you think it means now, just like "the n-word" is still offensive no matter how many rappers use it, and how the swastika is still representative of the other n-word that I know woot will censor anyway, regardless of its usage for thousands of years as a spiritual symbol not related to mass genocide.

Re: It's Rude To Point

Well, thanks for playing folks :P I appreciate the support but don't expect a resub, there's no way to retool this into the rules without just losing the concept entirely (I mentioned it earlier with apathetic Sam and Woot seems to agree).

I'm actually gonna thank Woot for the prompt rejection, although the reasoning is a little odd. Makes it sound like it was rejected on copyright rather than the 'recognizable figure' clause.

Which is why I said I have the same problem with a lot of shirts. Whether the shirts are well done is irrelevant if they are not on theme. Sadly, a lot of them aren't. People needed to look up the word "propaganda" before they started designing.

"If drinking is bitter, change yourself to wine." -Rainer Maria Rilke

"Champagne is a very kind and friendly thing on a rainy night." -Isak Dinesen

"There are many ways to the recognition of truth; Burgundy is one of them." -Isak Dinesen

I don't think this shirt is on theme. It isn't in a "recognizable propaganda-like style" and I'm not sure it's really propaganda so much as it's just a funny reference to something else.

Re: The War's Over

Missouri is NOT a southern state, it's a mid-west border state. I'm from central Missouri and have been to Arkansas lots of times. There is a very distinct cultural shift when you pass south of the Mason-Dixon line.

MO wasn't a confederate state either, we had lots of battles here in the war, and lots of strife and division.. but rebels we were not!
