I'm thinking just emailing the company you are having issues with might be a little more productive than asking the artist that drew the shirt to figure out where your shipment is...

Still haven't got my shirt, the tracking info says that shipping info was transmitted to SmartPost on 12/3 but apparently they still have not picked it up. I wanted this shirt for an upcoming holiday party and I hope it comes soon.

Heya, peeps? Doodz? Bros & girlz?
Lemme rap atcha for a moment:

IF YOU DON'T PAY FOR OVERNIGHT SHIPPING, THEN EXPECT YOUR PACKAGE TO TAKE 2-3 WEEKS TO REACH YOU. AND DON'T COMPLAIN ABOUT IT, BECAUSE IT'S FREE SHIPPING AND YOU HAD THE OPTION OF PAYING FOR QUICKER SHIPPING.

(but if you paid for overnight shipping and it's late, then EMAIL WOOT (service@woot.com) with your complaint)

This is my first shirt order. I went with the free shipping, so I'm not worried about the shirt taking a while to get here once actually shipped, but my order still isn't even showing as 'shipped'. I know it can take up to 5 business days, but is it common to take longer than that to go out?

It happens. Sometimes, I receive my shirt before the tracking number ever registers with fedex. Sometimes, I get a tracking number and watch the shirt sit and sit and sit in some mail depot somewhere. Sometimes, it takes a shirt barely a week to get to me, yet at other times it takes as long as a month (with the shirt not shipping out for a week). I tend to ignore a tracking email until it's two weeks since the purchase was made.
It's possible that woot wasn't expecting so many shirts of whatever size to sell, has run out of stock, and is printing up new ones. This would mean that there is a random selection of people--depending on order time and shirt size--that have their shirt shipments delayed until more shirts are printed up. It's happened on occasion with popular shirts.
You can always send an email to service@woot.com, if you like, with a polite question and your purchase and tracking info. It never hurts to ask woot what's up.

I've ordered eight shirts from shirt.woot.com, and I've only paid for overnight once, and it has never taken this long (I think the longest was delivered on the 5th business day, usually it is quicker). The site says that regular free shipping ships in 5 business days, but something is very wrong here since it's been 7 days (and 5 business days) since a tracking number has been assigned and it still hasn't been picked up yet. I'm afraid that Woot misjudged the popularity of this shirt (it sold out quickly) and I think they were planning on having more to sell than they have

Well, I got a response from customer service. They ran out of red shirts and just got some today. They anticipate that they will have the shirts printed and sent early next week, and I was told I'd have one by Christmas Day.

L A M E. Woot sold something they didn't have, made me think by giving me a tracking number that they had it and that it just hadn't been picked up by the shipper yet, and didn't provide any notification that they had run out of the shirts. Now I may have the shirt on Christmas Day, when Krampus will have already come and left with my children.

Wow, you're kind of a pretzel twist, aren't you?

I'm not complaining that it took the shipper a long time to bring it. I understand that, I work in an industry where I deal with shippers all day. The problem is not with the shipper, it's because Woot was still selling the shirts after they had run out of them, AND they had run out of all plain shirts of that color to print. In my line of work, if I had sold a customer a part that we did not have in stock and did not anticipate having in stock for over a week, but our warehouse generated a tracking number for the shipment anyway and we gave it to the customer, shifting the blame to the shipper instead of just saying "We don't have these in stock, they should ship around the middle of the month", I'd probably get fired.

I suspect that Woot realized that they did not have enough shirts for all the customers, and so they shipped what they had to the people who paid for next day. If the policy is that paying for freight not only gets you faster shipping (which is irrelevant to me since I live in the same city as Woot), but also gives you priority over other paying customers if stock is low, they need to make that clear.

I too am having trouble with this shirt, it gives me a smart post # that doesn't seem to exist, hopefully it will ship soon, what puzzles me is I ordered 2 other shirts after these and I rec'd them both already, I think something must have gone wrong with this one, considering the peeps that sd they paid for overnight and didnt get it

I look at the world and I notice it's turning...

I have ordered several things from woot.com but this is my first shirt.woot order. I am seriously underwhelmed. After two weeks it has not even shipped!?!?! I guess I was mistaken in making the assumption that I would have this in a few weeks so I could actually wear it BEFORE Christmas.

Quatermass

quality posts: 0 Private Messages Quatermass

Glad to see I'm not the only disappointed customer. I had waited the requisite 8 days, then e-mailed customer service and they told me to contact FedEx. I waited a couple of days longer, then contacted Fedex, who said the label was printed but the package was never actually shipped, so I should contact Woot. I did and now they said they ran out of red shirts but were expecting to get some more in the next couple of days. Then they will have to print the shirts, pack and ship them. I don't know why they had me waste time contacting FedEx, since Woot already would have known that the first time I contacted them.

I had ordered two, one of them was going to be a gift that I have to re-ship along with some other stuff, and it's unlikely it would get there by Christmas. It would be pointless to wear the shirt after Christmas, so I asked them to cancel the order for both.
Mostly everything I order from woot arrives in 1 day since I'm not far from Dallas.
I wouldn't think I would have to pay for overnight shipping for something I ordered on 12/1 to get it by 12/15. It's not the end of the world, but disappointing nevertheless.

You would think that because of the seasonal nature of it, that they'd have plenty on hand to ship. It shouldn't be any surprise that a shirt of this nature would sell well. Isn't there any trend analysis going on here? I agree with the other poster, though. Not the end of the world, but disappointing nonetheless. (I still don't have it, btw)

mugglemary

quality posts: 0 Private Messages mugglemary

Glad I checked here. Mine has not arrived yet and I was hoping to wear it at least a couple of times before Christmas day. The main idea was to freak out my nephew, who arrives on 12/22, and, not incidentally, to unnerve the rest of my family. I've never had a shirt take this long. I agree with the supply and demand / shipping info in the rest of the comments. I'll be seriously ticked if I don't get this before Christmas.

Roddi

Here it is, two whole weeks since I ordered this and it still hasn't shipped. I was going to wear it to a family Christmas party over last weekend, the main reason I got it was to amuse the relatives, especially the kids, but now it's too late for that. Was told by customer service that they would ship early this week as they got more of the red shirts on Friday, but my smartpost tracking number (issued 12/3) is showing it still has not been picked up. Even if it is picked up tomorrow, there's a strong chance I won't get this until the week of Christmas.

Well they e-mailed me back and said that even though they haven't shipped, they can't cancel the order, so I have to refuse shipment. So now I'll probably have to stand in line at the post office to send it back. At least they were apologetic and admitted the failure was theirs.

They probably can't cancel the order because they paid for the shipping already on the non-existent packages (probably weighing the same one over and over again on the FedEx machine if it works anything like UPS. If they do a mass cancellation that might affect their FedEx rates.

Guess I picked a bad shirt to be my first Shirt Woot. I have to say I'm rather disappointed.

I know I got free shipping but 2 weeks or 10 business days is more than reasonable to send a shirt from Texas to California. If there was a delay they should have notified people. Hopefully I get it in time for this Christmas.

My order says it shipped by my tracking number is invalid.

Bottom line I shouldn't have to pay for overnight shipping to ensure my package arrives in less than a freaking month. Its just not acceptable business practice. At least if they told you up front that free shipping may take 7 years or would actually notify people when unexpected delays happen it wouldn't be as bad.

To be fair, this is the first time I've had any problems with stuff shipping from Woot in a timely fashion, and I've ordered 8 shirts now. Of course, all 7 of the previous ones have been in children's sizes, which they may not have as much trouble keeping in stock.

Has anyone who has ordered the shirt since the price went up to $15 got one?

Staff

Update on shirt shipping:

As some of you may know- we were out of red shirts temporarily which caused a delay in shipping this design out. I have just been informed that we will finish up printing this one and have them shipped out either today or tomorrow. All orders placed before 12-11 will be upgraded to 2-Day shipping, and you should get an updated tracking number when that becomes available. If you hear nothing from us or receive no shirt by the end of this week please email in to service@woot.com to check on the status of your shirt.

Profuse apologies all around, this has been an outrageously dumb situation and I hope we can get it all fixed up soon.

My tracking number works... says info went to FedEx on the 3rd, arrived at FedEx in Dallas on the 5th... sat there for 2.5 days before departing for Indy... which took two days of travel. Indy is 3 hours away so I was hopeful when it left there at 5PM on the 9th... only then it disappeared for two days until it arrived in Belleville, MI which is an hour and half away... then it left later the next morning on the 12th, and supposedly arrived at the local post office around noon on the 12th... only, it's not here 4 days later, and the post office claims they don't have it. I even went there... a whole block away... to ask, and they said if it came in, it would have gone out.

So now I have to wonder who along the line is fibbing about it's location... Fedex claims it's at the post office, the post office claims it's not. Fun stuff.

Edit: Yay, mine got here today, at long last! After 5 days of FedEx claiming it was at the post office, and two days in a row of asking the post office for it and they saying they didn't have it and it would have gone out Monday, they finally found it and delivered. Just in time for the holiday parties this weekend.

I just got an email from Woot saying that they sold out of my size and that it would take 2 weeks to get more made then they will ship.

Um... how come I got shimpent info if NOTHING was ever shipped? Why would I want a Christmas theme shirt delivered a week after Christmas? Had they EVER planned to mention this to people or jsut let everyone hang until the shirts were ready?

Bad form Woot. VERY bad form.

What size was yours and when did you order it? I ordered mine at around 2:40PM CST on 12/1, and my size was 3XL. I still have not received any notification from Woot since they told me it would ship early this week and that my order was not being bumped by people who were paying more for the shirt and/or shipping.

Mine is a 3XL as well and still no info from woot. Ordered mine on 12/1, in the early AM, not long after the Krampus design was put up for sale. This was my first shirt.woot purchase (I've purchased numerous items from woot with no problems) and since then I've purchased 4 or 5 more. In fact, my second shirt purchase arrived 2 days ago.

This really is bad form folks. You should have better communication with your customers. If I were to pull a stunt like this and not inform my customers of MY screw up, I'd have no more customers to inform.

That being said, I am hoping this is an isolated incident and that I won't have further issues with the other 4 shirts I've ordered since 12/1.

I too ordered a 3XL on 12/1 and have not received updated shipping information. I understand that I didn't pay for faster shipping and then they ran out of red shirts, but this is slightly ridiculous. So far, not too satisfied with the Woot shirt. :/

Awwww.... that's not cool. I ordered on 12/1 and wanted to wear it for a party I'm hosting on Saturday night. Ahhh well, overall I'm satisfied with the deals that I get from Woot, and who knows, maybe it'll be a Xmas miracle and show up tomorrow!

Well, it's Friday, no updated tracking number, no activity on the 15 day old tracking number I have. This has been a really sad experience for me, I was really excited about this shirt and hoped to wear it several times through the season, and now it's only a few more days until Christmas. I've been told that I can just refuse it if it arrives too late, but our mailman usually comes when nobody is at home, and they've never knocked on previous deliveries of Woot shirts. I don't know how one can refuse shipments by regular mail.

Edited to add:

I'll be picking up the shirt this afternoon from Woot HQ. Thanks Woot for being flexible!

I'm having a hard time with this. the tracking number that was sent was bogus. Absolutely No reply has been sent to me when I contact Service@woot.com.

You took payment the pay I ordered, I expect delivery within 5-10 days because this i 2009 not 1889.

Next step is to get my CC company involved and dispute the charges. This is 100% the opposite of all of the experiences that everyone I know has had with this site.

I didn't pay for overnight shipping, and if I had, I'd be at least twice as steamed as I am right now. No shirt. Two occasions to wear the shirt have come and gone. I was so excited about this shirt. Bah humbug. Thanks a lot, Woot.

Still no shirts for me either. Sent out the gift package that was supposed to include one of the shirts Wednesday and I don't want the other now. I have to admit I'm amused by the absurdity of the situation: I'm waiting for them to manufacture a shirt so I can reject it. Maybe that's worth something.

My .02: Horrible experience for me all the way around. Was given tracking number that said shirt was handed off to my PO on 12/10. Waited two days for delivery but still no shirt. Called PO and the carrier said there never was a package. How the *&%^ can there be a "phantom" tracking #? Anyway, I tried e-mailing customer service and they told me it was all a big screw-up and the shirts were being sent out and I would have it today. Of course, nothing.

I contacted support again and after waiting for a reply, I received "please contact PO as your shirt was delivered on 12/10"!!! Your kidding me... Because it was such an important gift (long story) I said screw it and ordered another w/ overnight shipping. Link said I should have it on Tuesday. Support did wind up refunding the original $10 but now I spent $20 for the damn thing.

I'm nervous now that I look in my account the message states "Shirts typically ship within 5 days". What the *&^?!! It said Tuesday! This is the worst, most frustrating e-commerce experience I have ever dealt with. I wish I never saw the shirt and got sucked in to making it an important part of a gift for Christmas (again, ling story...). Krampus needs to visit the Woot people who manage the customer service/fulfillment center...

I emailed customer service and got a nice, ambiguous answer of "we will be shipping these soon and your tracking information will update when we do." That reply was received on Tuesday, with nary a word since.

I'm usually all about giving the merchant the benefit of the doubt, especially Woot, since I've ordered tons of stuff from them, but this is a bit stupid.

What's the sense in offering a holiday shirt on 12/1, not having any in stock and likely not shipping them to arrive before the holiday in question? Geez.

it is the largest octopus ever recorded.
