I'm still not seeing how this is on topic. I understand that there is a connection between dreamcatchers and nightmares, but there is nothing nightmarish about a dreamcatcher--it's more like the opposite of the theme. I think if you had some bad dreams getting caught by the dreamcatcher it might tie in better to this derby. Sokowa does something similar in The Guardian. That shirt wouldn't be on topic were it not for the nightmare coming through the floor.

Little harsh there weird? I'm pretty sure this sucker is loaded with gradients. Way ink-heavy and yeah...no female in her right mind (unless she's really tryin') is gonna wear this.

Funnily enuff, that was my first choice but I got cold feet. Still don't know whether I made the right choice in this instance. However, after a year of doing this derby thing, I can say without hesitation, that cute's the safer bet. Thanks for the interest. I'm working on a more textured version of this, which I'll be uploading asap and this time, with the 'gaping maw' thumb, to compare the response, as much as anything else.

Some of you are saying this is off-topic because it's not scary/nightmare-ish. It might not be a nightmare to you now, being older, but think of when you were a kid. If you were a small child and you had a dream where the grim reaper caused destruction on your local playground, you'd be pretty freaked out and call it a nightmare.

I really like the art and colors in this. I don't usually go for white shirts, but I think this just works for me. Would be my first white woot shirt if it get's printed. GMV

I do believe that the dark purple smoke coming from the bottom of the shirt is a nightmare that is being caught and transformed into a good blue dream smoke as it passes through the dreamcatcher. Or at least that's what I thought was happening.

From the artist in the first comment: "I wanted to illustrate one performing its job - keeping nightmares out and letting good dreams in. I tried to make the nightmare section look scary while the good dreams section hopefully looks more soothing."

I think there could have been more work put into making the purple smoke more nightmarish by having scary things made out of the smoke but that's a design decision for the artist to make. As it is, it seems on topic enough that it'll probably stay. It'll depend on what they put in their "defend your design" section when they uploaded it to woot.

Perhaps, but there isn't really any indication that this is necessarily taking place in the "human world" in a nightmare...The problem with it is, there is just the Reaper. No humans to distinguish whether this is taking place on Earth or some otherworldly plane. This depiction could very well be just of the Reaper's world or whatever.

I think this is a beautiful design and I would love to wear this. The only shirts I ever buy here are the artsy ones, so I really hope this makes it. I love the peacock feather and the gems, and the abstract representation of dreams and nightmares. It may take a bit more interpretation than some, but I like that. It definitely has my vote, and I will buy and wear it if it gets picked
