he's so sad looking, but does kinda have a look of hope, like he's listening for a heart beat. hey if it doesn't print and woot ever has a dr derby, you can give him a stethoscope!

and like i said in the original thread i still like how the rock looks like he has a leg.

I thought it was a lion! Now I'm comfused, is the scarf tied right under its nose? I liked it as a lion, it made me think "lionheart."

I agree on the kickass art.

I'm also pretty sure I'd wear this on a shirt.

Honestly, some of my most complimented shirts are on the strange side, and that includes Edgar's "Air".

I like how this came out. It would be easy to make this kind of design too busy but I think this works.

@ ressamac: thank you! I'm really happy with the colors as my laptop usually warps them a bit..

@Drakxxx: Thank you kind sir, for the vote of confidence.

@ Sokowa: I usually can't stand to use less than 5 colors. This was a total fluke, I promise, haha. Also, I was really inspired by paper cutting/silhouetting. So that helped.

@ eye4spot: Thanks! I try my best not to pander to anyone but myself. Well, most of the time..

@ Andy47240: Thank you, Andy! I was happy when I saw them on a different monitor because my laptop didn't make them nearly as vibrant.

@ D3lusional: That's weird, because I was going for a hit-in-the-face look for her. ;) Actually, I was thinking more simple aztec sculpture. I think I might try working on the middle drawing alone with more detail. As is, I think it might be too simple to stand alone.

And as always, thank you to everyone for the kind words (or helpful critiques!).

Re: I'm looking for a... Heart Beat! (v.2)

Okay, like before, this is a take off of Don Johnson's dubious hit from the '80s- Heartbeat. I actually own the 45 embarrassingly, and actually dressed in this style for my junior prom. Will white Armani suits with tshirts under them come back? I'm not so sure.

This resub adds a car and a suitable background, since I didn't really like the original concept of just the sidewalk.

Re: Heart Hunter

It's very heartwarming to see the reconciliation between you two.

However, that's about where the positivity train ends. The tiger's face isn't even cloyingly cute this time. It's sorta... creepy and humanoid. And, of course, it's there for the sake of being there and winning votes from anyone who'll vote for a design with a "cute" tiger.

Re: Love has no age…

Look and see, people. This is how cute shirts can be. They can be charming, full of life and humor, while remaining simple and adorable. You can "get" them on first glance, but they have an impact well beyond that initial superficial moment. Once again, Walmazan shows us how it's done.

sakleehop wrote:Cute, but I don't know if you're going to get away with the Link reference - might be a copyright issue for Woot.

If you are worried about just the Link copyright you are completly blind. These are ALL characters people recognize, so if its going ot be a copy right issue, it wont be just with Link but I doubt it will be at all because its not focusing on just one subject. He isnt just using a video game refference(yeah Zelda but also lost in space, wizard of oz, the squid, Frankenstien, etc.). Each represents a different type of heart. Honostly I think it is a great shirt and would most defently buy it.

Re: Shooting the Moon

Hearts is one of my favourite card games. The goal is to get the fewest points possible. You get one point for each heart and 13 points for the Queen of Spades. If you manage to take all 13 hearts AND the Queen of Spades, you "shoot the moon" and everyone else gets 26 points.

In this design, the Queen of Spades herself has collected 12 hearts and is collecting the last one...

The Queen I drew is based on the art used in Bicycle playing cards, though heavily simplified. The bow is based on the sceptre that the Queen of Spades traditionally holds.

I wanted to fix up the hearts, but I don't have any time. Grr. If anyone wants to collab and take this concept to the next artistic level, just let me know!

fishbiscuit5 wrote:I certainly mean no harm to anyone. I'm new to woot and had an idea that made me laugh so I thought I would try it out. It's the learning curve :-) Thanks for your words of wisdom! I have some other ideas I am working on.

Also, I'd suggest looking through this site to see what woot has already printed. While yours is much different in execution, it's similar in subject to a shirt woot has already printed. Last year a robot fell in love with a fire hydrant so it's unlikely that there's going to be a lot of love for a robot falling in love with a trash can.

However, I do gotta give you much love for using cranberry. That's a far underused color on this site. I like that you went for something less common right away.
