I thought of this design from the two derby when I saw the theme and was excited by the chance to rework it. I like how the original was structured, but wanted to make it much more detailed and generally better looking, so redrew it completely and tried to adjust things based on critiques of the original.

My hand still hurts from gridding and drawing scales for hours :P

I gathered these animals together myself and made prints of their paws/hooves last night. It was a lot of work and they did not get along with each other...Plus I had to find a freak'n dragon. Enjoy

I've been lurking here for only a couple weeks. I've seen last week's (heart) derby, the honorable mentions for the palindrome derby, and now the beginning of this week's derby. Every single time, when I've seen the shirt I like best, you created it! I am alredy a fan and will be watching every week to see what you come up with next! I hope you win often so I can buy lots of your designs.

This is funny, clever, and just plain cute.

I had that problem too. I added the book of animals to try to give it the sense that he had been looking through to find himself but couldn't. Ultimately, I think the image of a sad dragon eating ice cream is rather amusing in and of itself.

Okay so I know there are probably going to be a million and one dragon designs in this derby, but... *sigh* This was the only one of three designs that I wasn't tearing my hair out over this week.

I'm pretty sure it was just the sheer number of possibilities available for the theme.

So....not the most original of ideas, but I'm rather happy with how it turned out, which is more than I can say for my other ideas -_-

in any case, I hope you all enjoy ^_^
