I see 8 as well. It looks unintentional but there is a streak of white near the upper right corner (and maybe at the far left just off the closeup). And there is a darker red that can be seen in a few places. Most noticeably in the thumbnail above the front paws.

I voted for this but I wouldn't want it to print like that. Even it it's correct in the print file, this is rejectable. If you want to resub I'd suggest tweaking the right and left edges a bit more. It looks like you tried to avoid this but it still looks a bit blocky. I think I actually prefer the smaller size though it seems a bit high to me. Anyway, I really like it.

Something about the style seems very different from the rest. But, mostly, I think it's that the wolf looks more dog than wolf. But I'm not sure what it is that's making it look dog like. Wish I could explain this better.

I can see how the girl, pet, and wolf could come from three different worlds, style-wise. Don't worry, I understand what you're getting at. Thanks for letting me know what you like/don't like.

Aww I really like the way you draw all your human characters. They all look really playful and versatile, as if they could easily fit into any story. I think you were the one that had a design a few months ago, of a girl with freckles, and I thought they were pimples haha. I really liked the way the girl looked in that design, and I really like this one also. Your style is very appealing to me

Just because it's an online forum doesn't mean you throw your decency out the window.

Xazothia's statement was short and to the point. There were no negatively or positively charged words there. You took it how you felt it, not necessarily how she meant it. I honestly think your art has potential here but not with that attitude.

I'm a big fat failure, is what. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to resub this in time. But nevertheless, thanks to both of you for being nice enough to let me know, I will definitely look out for that next time.

Re: Little Dragon

The wings and the stuff on his back blend in with the color of the shirt, which takes away from it, for me at least. I like the idea though, too bad it's not doing better.

Hope to see more submissions from you in upcoming derbies. ^^ Good luck, and GMV.

Re: Someday!

Nice idea and the layout is nice too. I think the main things that hurt it are the bold colors and the boxed out bottom. The drawings quite nice and I agree that the thought bubble into the smoke is very cool. When dealing with several hues (Blue shirt, Green and Red background) try to keep the saturation and intensity down a bit. By nature, these 3 colors clash with each other. So having them really bright and bold just screams at you. Red, in particular, should really be used sparingly. Just keep that in mind.

Each entry is a learning experience so keep at it!

Re: Tools of the Trade Ver 2.0

Heyyy. This version works out really well. The shape of the gear is triangular and enforcing the good ol' triforce with a semi-subliminal flair. It'd be really solid if the bottom points of the gear were on the same level -- really emphasizing a triangular base. But only if you wanted it to read as such.

I didn't know what it was about the lines that made it feel funny in your previous entry, but the design feels relieved of that now. One super nitpick-y suggestion just to bear in mind for the future: the handle of the sword seems thin and off centered. Not a big deal, I didn't notice it until thoroughly analyzing the detail. Like I said, things to note for the future.

Overall, as a shirt design, I like this. I am guilty of enjoying the Zelda series to no end, but a lot of derby entries referencing the games haven't been my style. Cute, contrived ideas, but nothing I'd wear on a shirt because it's not my slice of geekery. I could see myself wearing a shirt like this. Good luck in the derby!

This is a really fun illustration. I wouldn't wear it on a shirt, but I did want to extend an honest "Hey, this is neat!" to the artists. I really enjoy the detail to the robot's shadow and shape of the background elements. It's a wonderfully composed and executed design.

Hi everyone.
The idea behind this shirt is that all our favourite Giant Monsters are duking it out in the city to be the king of the monsters. The Damsel in distress is at the top of the sky scraper and the monsters are competing to win her affections!
