Re: The Swing Machine

This boy knows the secret to extreme swinging.

Sorry the thumb is kind of deformed. This is my first entry, so I have lots and lots to learn! Enjoy.

slhampel wrote:Who's the fourth kid?

That is Wedge Antilles. I figured he was in all of the first films and the only person involved with both Death Star battles.

Actually the two kids not in the detail shot are extras who will probably get devastated by the approaching ATST (All Terrain School Transport).

Re: Need for Speed

Well, regardless of what it may 'look like' or who's style it may 'steal', I would still buy one. F*ck these other guys. It's not about what's 'Done' or 'Old', it's about what the Wooters want, and if they want every shirt from here on out to be a rocket-propelled turtle, or any other turtle combination, then so be it. If they want to see an art gallery, they can take their a** to a museum.

Re: France's 3.3 second race

Yeah I saw it and it was funny. I have no problem with that but making a shirt out of it is like the William Hung album, you know? It just makes me think "Why?"

fleamarketadict wrote:I don't think it's the hand, I think it's the identical stars and run-of-the-mill globe that makes it look like clipart.

Thanks for the input. When I get home from work tonight I will rework the design. The hand, as dumb as this sounds took way longer than I thought it would, not being a cartoonist and all, so I shortcut the stars. The earth will also pose its own challenge trying to get it to match the hand and redone stars stylistocally

AdderXYU wrote:A gazelle chasing a cheetah on a rocketpack never makes that much sense. And what the hell did you do to the cheetah's back legs?

I would think a gazelle with a roaring turbine would scare about any cheetah. and as for the legs, thats how they run, as Bass pointed out. look up a picture, you'll see.

thanks for the comment about the perspective, I did my best to fix it.

I can see it on my computer, but I have it on good authority (two friends at different computers) that they can't see the thumbnail, either. I sent the powers that be an email.

I can't figure it out. I even re-submitted, and the re-sub came up blank, too.

It's called hatching and it's a standard method of shading.

Nice work! How does it feel to be back in the coloring-seat? I'm still falling off the ideas-ladder myself. I've had a few good ideas but Google search proved they'd been done before in some manner. Oh well. Maybe something will come to me. Good luck.

Yes, the cheetah's legs at full clip do look like that. I had to completely redraw what I did on my own dealio because I tried to draw a regular cat run. Most photos of a cheetah run look like this .

Although it's true that woot is about what the *users* want, it gets really old seeing the same freaking design every derby... ramy has just moved on to turtles now since bunnies are outlawed. :/ Shame, too. One or two of the past entries were actually pretty decent.

That should be "you're" rather than "your." As an example, you could have said, "You're picky about your shirt.woot votes."

That said, I agree with the above poster. I'm not likely to buy a white shirt either, regardless of how awesome it is. Shirt color does matter to some of us, and white shirts have many issues such as being easy to stain and being partially transparent. They also look incredibly poor on people who happen to be exceedingly pale.

Re: Float On - Now with Improved Steering Power!

I'm usually not a big fan of the splotchy style but I think it really works here. If each thing was fully shading and inside the lines it wouldn't be very appealing. I also think the white is a great choice.

I don't comment on your work much but I really like your diversity. You have quite a range and they are always very well executed. Keep up the great work!
