I love that commercial. (Don't care for the orange, though.) Would definately draw attention.

SkekTek wrote:I love the technique here. Looks very much like the Curious George style of watercolors over charcoal. Amazed that you could do that in 6 colors!

Thanks so much Skek. The texture shading was something new, and took a loooong time.
I used to love curious george, so that's a nice comparison! The one I always remember the most is when he ate tons of spaghetti.

This shirt is adorable but I cannot see myself wearing it. However, I would more more than happy to vote for it in exchange for the recipe!!!

The joke isn't very clever or amusing, and I fail to see what this has to do with the retro theme beyond being slightly desaturated and distressed.

I assume the end of the recipe involves vigorously beating them together :D Great idea to but the recipe on the shirt. GMV

AdderXYU wrote:I think this would be much stronger if the references weren't so mixed. Hargreaves' characters are classic enough to feel vintage, indeed, especially on a "washed out" creme blank, but going from Mr. Tambourine Man to Mr. Brightside adds a little too much clash for me. Not that Mr. Brightside isn't my favorite of all the characters (if not my favorite reference). I just think that sticking either with the classic references (which would make it seem more retro) or the more modern ones (which would play off the classic nature of the style) would make this much more solid.

I kind of agree. It would be much stronger if for instance you did all modern references it would fit in with "new vintage".

But I'm voting for this shirt for the Mr. Brightside reference. Good refernece.
