I think this may break the no bunnies rule.
Re: Consumed by music
I did sub another version here:
Re: Consumed by Music II
Re: A Little Nutty
Resubmitted the design on a blue shirt. :D Got a few opinions & seemed to be a color that many seemed to like.
A Little Nutty Resub
Re: A Little Nutty (Resub)
Found that some don't care for heather gray so gave this nutty little guy some color.
tjost wrote:I think this is really good, but like your title I'm getting more of a ghost/haunted feel then any connection to madness. Great work as usual though.
The first thing I connected it to was Coleridge's "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" (no lack of 'madness' in that one!):
Beyond the shadow of the ship,
I watched the water-snakes :
They moved in tracks of shining white,
And when they reared, the elfish light
Fell off in hoary flakes.
Re: The Two Sides of Madness
This just looks like a blob of color. None of the elements really pop off the shirt, and as a result, that makes this look incredibly flat and boring.
odysseyroc wrote:The curse of freelance work. It started on saturday when I got a call asking if I could take on 11 "easy" pages of a book called Blackest Night. They turned out to be the toughest pages I've colored in a couple of years. That backed my up on my other deadlline, which meant I had to do a weeks worth of work in 2 days. As soon as I finished that, I got a call asking if I could help out with 6 pages of Batman and Robin. Halfway through doing those I got a call asking if I could help with an 8 page online comic for a new Square Enix game. Of course I still have an issue of the WWII comic that I color monthly and I have no idea what the deadline is for that, so I'm sure they'll want it on tuesday. My head is spinning.
You win ;)

I tend not to check the new derbies until late friday/early saturday, so you've got me there.

"Holy cow, is that Boots?"
"Holy cow, that is Boots!"
The only thing I can think of that might've tipped me off is the reflections on the screens. I mean, that's the only thing that says BootsBoots to my conscious mind.
Clearly, this is reaching me on some level I can't purposely access. Therefore, I must vote for it.
Something about the color scheme hinted that it was boots to me, but yeah, this is a dramatic departure from her usually easily recognizable style. A truly stunning design, one that'd make for one hell of a conversation starter of a shirt.
Love the idea and 3/4 of the execution! Might use some cleanup and better balance between elements on the left and right sides.

Oh, nice shirt!
Thanks.. I think ;p

Ditto to this. Jewelwing's entry uses a similar color scheme, but there's much more contrast and it's less busy, so everything pops much more.
Re: My best friend
yay it's in the fog :D I really want this to print :D
Re: Madness? This is Ratta

The steamy version is over here http://shirt.woot.com/Derby/Entry.aspx?id=40783
I tried to make the steam look like it got cut in half at the same time the cup did.
Hope you like it!
Re: 1 ok 2 ok 3 ok 4 ok
whats actually going on in this picture??
Here's a steamy version of the Mad Hatter's half cup of morning brew. I tried to make the steam look like it was also cut in half.
Please let me know if the effect work for you.

That's the point - it's insane...Love your work Edgar - it's classic and yet nothing I've ever seen before. Madness personified. GMV

Sad to hear about the mess up with Gorgon. I can relate. I once lost most of my stories o_o I hope for a future with lots of Gorgon Love to go around.
That's what I'm hoping for! It's a setback, to be sure, but too many people want to see Gorgon Love out and about, so I shall prevail!
Re: Vampire Photo Booth
I like this, but I don't really see "madness" in it...

Got My Vote
I never before this moment thought "madness" could be depicted in such an adorable manner. But here it is. Super cute!
when i saw this my first thought was 什么?
so good job. that's what crazy is supposed to do.

It sure doesn't feel like winning.
Hey all! Hope you like this one. This ended in a very different place from where started.
Here's an enlargement.
Wow, this is great!
Re: rescue plan of a mad man
Why in the world the king's horses were given the opportunity to try to help is beyond me.
Re: Crazy Pills
"I feel like I'm taking crazy pills! I invented the piano key necktie, I invented it!"
I wanted to get this up earlier but my computer decided it didn't want to run Illustrator due to an Adobe registry error. 3 reinstalls and registry cleanings later it's working :S
Well I have been trying to get this to look good and just not doing so well. Anyone want to color this?
White shirt? You are mad.
Edgar is to mad as Drakxxx is to Halloween.
i love this. it actually reminds me of the green laughter is the best medicine shirt sold on woot before.
this is so amazing. i would buy 3!
Re: Mad Hatter's Morning Brew v2
Nice clean graphic and I really like the steam effect. Also, there is something quite awesome about the the half tea cup on a shirt.
Might it be better higher up on the shirt though?
Wow. I totally don't get the title, but the illo is amazing!
