Does this shirt remind any else of an "Unfolding Mystery" that may or may not have happened back in July?

Okay, but isn't that Johnny Appleseed sleeping under the other side of the tree? Or who is that. I need to know so I can explain each and every bit of this shirt to two curious little boys!

I thought the two people were Rhett and Scarlett from Gone with the Wind.

Found it

Wizard of Oz (Toto), Alice in Wonderland (Cheshire Cat), Sherlock Holmes, 20,000 Leagues (the squid), MobyDick (Ahab), Adam & Eve (the Bible), Tom Sawyer, Pride and Prejudice (Elizabeth Bennet and Mr Darcy) Tarzan, Aesops Fables (Tortoise and the Hare), Odyssey (Odysseus), Robin Hood.

Thanks everybody. It's your duty now to take this shirt to all your local libraries, schools, book clubs etc and proudly display it to any and all... also if you want to point people to Woot so that they too can enjoy the magic of this shirt, well then that would be nice as well.

I don't understand how a legit submit can win one weak but not another...wooters are such a fickle crowd. Good job this was a deserved win.

I'm confused. Is the turtle Franklin? or the Tortoise from the Tortoise and the Hare? This should have been made more clear.

Tortoise and the hare, though Woot had a no bunny rule this week and while hares aren't technically bunnies I couldn't put him in it. Franklin would be a little to modern compared to the other figures though so I think it works

I love the fact that I can look at this shirt and reference some of my favorite cartoons as a child.

Maybe the cartoon told the story in the form of, say, a fox Robinhood or a mouse as the great detective, but it was all endearingly.

I bought 3! Tomorrow, I shall trick my boyfriend in to buying 3 more. I know SO many people that will love the little quaint depictions of some of the best stories in literature!

not only is this great for the literatti (get it? like glitterati, only educated), but the mini-essay references the cupboard every child-who-believed-toys-came-to-life-when-alone always wanted but knew they could never have because it's just a story...or is it, Bastian?

My nerdity knows no bounds. If my wallet felt the same, I'd be purchasing this shirt. Oh well.

Waiting until they make this shirt into a movie, then I'll buy it.

All kidding aside big congrats to the artist! This deserved to win and it did despite me thinking the woot community would mess something up. Congrats!

I was not sure which shirt you were referencing so I looked it over and while I can see how you might see some similarities in how the artists opted to portray the derby theme I personally think they are very different.

Genisis Chapter 3 verse 6 New American Standard Bible

It is almost great shirt, too bad the artist decided to muddy all those good stories with the fairy tale of the bible as the centerpiece.

Even if it was meant to point out the fiction of that book, having it in the smack dab middle of the shirt would give the thumpers too much satisfaction for me to ever want to wear this.

I was very happy to see this shirt made it to the weekend, and it was just icing on the cake that I was able to pick on up today instead of waiting to see whether it'd even be printed.

Great job!
