Totally different style, but reminds me of TGentry's national parks entry.

Re: Earth Rise

Heard Carl Sagan's "Little Blue Dot" yesterday and it got me thinking about how we look from the moon. It's a pretty place, if you just get back far away enough.

Some famous photos from the lunar landings, but I basically just pulled this out of my head. So don't look for any accuracy!

I get that this is a mandala-style pattern, but I really would have liked to see each element separately drawn, rather than copy/pasted around the design.

Re: The Rising Tide

This is a shirt I originally started for the S theme. It was going to be Summit Surfer. But I also thought it worked well as a global warming shirt. Hope you enjoy it.

Thanks you two. Hmm... I hope they don't take off for placement. I could move it to the other side of the shirt, but I really like it where it is. And I hope that the stylistic differences are enough. I mean, other than the fact that it's a similar species (I am intending this to be a Sequoiadendron, whereas TGentry's looks more like a sempervirens (or Redwood Sequoia), despite it's naming.

Eh. If it gets rejected, I'll move the placement and mention the subtle differences to woot and see if they'll let me stay on a little longer.

Don't know what everyone else is seeing, but on my monitor the color looks like a very dark gray/dark asphalt.

I'm not really into the brown. NO OLIVE THOUGH, yucky. blue, green (kelly/grass), white, cream. Those are your choices, haha.

Re: Earth Whale

I love the whale itself! It's really cute. But the halftones aren't doing anything for me at all. The stars also add a border to the design... I'd like to see what it looks like without them, or with more sparse distribution (fewer, further apart, that sort of thing).

Just my two cents. For good cheer, a song about whales :D

Oh. HALFTONES eh? I see!

I'm actually slightly confused as to how small the halftones can be. I have a general idea, but I don't know the point size. I can show you the design files for a couple I've done that used pretty small halftones if you want, though.

Re: Blue Planet

The design itself looks wonderful, but the plain blue of the shirt looks very boring in comparison. I think it would look better if the design somehow melded with the shirt better.

Well, what I did was to look at the daily submissions page, linked at the bottom of the shirt woot page. On that page it lists each of the shirt colors and the Pantone color woot has associated with it. This shirt color is Pantone 532, which they have tied to the Navy swatch. I don't know how the daily submission shirt colors can be wrong, really. I'm just really leery of getting my colors from the rgb colors I read from the swatches in the templates, While I am using the Pantone huey screen calibrator woot sold a few months ago to match my colors, I still don't trust the rgb. Since I'm using a Pantone color for the shirt, seems like the best I can do.
