Re: How FIRE EXTINGUISHERS work

Nice idea and well executed

Good thing that, if you are hungry, thirsty and on fire, all you need is a fire extinguisher and a can opener.

Poor moles! I didn't know there were so many traps out there concentrating on them. I love the way this looks, really charming and cute.

Re: How Storms are Formed over the Ocean

I'm not entirely sure how thoroughly it engages the intent behind the theme of this derby, but it's a nice graphic. A lot of the other entries are too involved in trying to work in a lot of mechanics without a strong unified image.

Congrats! Easily one of the best illustrations submitted for this derby.

paigeg wrote:There are a bunch of problems with this, not least is some lack of some visual context to bring the design together (along with the backward foot on God!). That said, its hysterical, and you should definitely try this one again with more refinement, here or elsewhere.
In the spirit of thatrobert's BLAs, I've decided I want to recognize some derby submissions that didn't cut the mustard. Can't promise I'll pull this off every week (I would LIKE to), but I felt some folks who put it out there deserved some attention...

CONGRATULATIONS on winning the YOU ROCK AWARD!

{{Mod note: your image is too large, both in screen size and file size. It's starting to look spammy. Please change accordingly.}}

This means you are definitely NOT going to get printed following this Woot Derby.

But it also means that you
A. Subbed a great first effort
B. Subbed a design that for some reason just didn't rock the vote
C. Got Rejectionated but should definitely try again and/or re-sub in a more appropriate derby or as a daily
D. I like you

Take it for what it's worth - just wanted to give you a nod for the effort and make sure you keep trying. Rock on!

wow ty paigeg.... i think you're rite i realy must refine this and send it again, sadlly i was too bussy til now, and is a litllebit late o resub. maybe a daily :D

ty again! and pardon my erngrish, it really doesn't speak to me

Re: Ask Again Later

Concept + execution = Best in show!

Only suggestion as mentioned by someone else, it would be nice to see it a little larger on the shirt.

Hey folks, lets get some votes out for this outstanding shirt!

Re: Stephenie the Vampire Slayer

Hilarious. GMV. I've grown weary of Adder's consistently negative and hateful comments. I happen to like the serif font. It's not an interstate sign for chrissakes. A t-shirt doesn't have to be a Michaelangelo to be funny, attractive, and effective. Well done!

queboy89 wrote:Uhm. To clarify, the guy was talking about the 18 bunnies... on one shirt. And yea, it's close to the fog. Even you said it was close to the fog...

Agree about the off topic part. Honestly, a punit square would have been perfect, but I'm not sure Ramyb would go for that. Not kawaii enough you know... mongoose. Crapi.

18 *click *lightbulb thx for the clarification.

Just wanted to give a big thank you to everyone who supported this design! I have no idea if it's going to place or not but it's been great being in the fog the whole week, and it feels even more special because the design was inspired by new family members as of last week

Re: How toasters work in Tokyo

The idea of the design is that it's supposed to be a miniature godzilla in the toaster. The blue part of the artwork are the scales on his back. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Cheers paigeg!

Re: Think green

It looks to me like you may have more than six colors. I'm seeing:

Black
White
2 Blues (not counting the shirt color)
2 Greens (maybe 3?)
1-2 Browns

Still, it's a beauriful design, and I hope we see more of your work!

yeah i made a few mistakes hosting the image of it, it looks really grainy. as far as the size goes i think it is too big but i could reduce it to the correct size. i just dont know how to edit my post or whatever.

Re: Stephenie the Vampire Slayer

As much as I love this shirt and actually would want one... Isn't it kinda off topic? The theme is "how it works" not "how to do." Unless you want to argue "this is how killing a vampire works" which is shaky at best.

I think so, with the text it just seems like a political thing and not a random cool shirt

Re: It's a simple equation

I think this might be a bit more cleaver if it had more to do with punnet squares and co-dominance, with the two alleles blue and white either being expressed homozygous(only blue or only white) or co-dominate heterozygous (blue and white) all in punnet square form.

  • Though I respect that a lot, I'd be fired if that was my job.

I really like this shirt and have voted for it.

But I would love to hear you talk about the composition. How you came up with the idea and how you decided to execute it in this way.

Thanks.

Good luck with this one.

And to all the people who don't know what to vote for, please vote for this, because I'd love to wear it.
