"Eureka", while potentially applicable here, usually refers to Archimedes' discovery of mass, not Newton.

Awesome - love it. I just wonder if it might not sit better on (can't believe I'm suggesting this) asphalt?

DUDE.

I almost think it's overkill to both have ol' Ben be drunk, AND have the Frankenstein reference, but really I just think it's awesome.

Awesome and overkill. They're often the same thing.

In the late 1800's during the railroad boom, John Henry was a man that bested a new, steam powered railroad spike driving machine, but died of exhaustion from his efforts. It's a great story of man vs machine, although its veracity and details are debated by historians.

But what the hell. Got nothing to lose on this design.

I went back to look at all the available colors Woot offers. They don't have a grey like I was thinking (I was hoping for something imbetween heather grey and asphalt). As for the green, I was thinking along the lines of olive.

See, for instance, this one on olive:

Thanks everyone
Glad this is still in the magic fog!
-I tried Asphalt, but decided it works better on Heather Grey. Also because it even adds more "sandy" structure to it.
-Greys are necessary cause the first man on the moon was such a b-w situation

I was thinking about how guys work on weekend projects with their buddies in the garage. You know? Like restoring a car or whatever. Lot's of beer is usually involved, so I thought that was funny. But obviously there's something about this that's putting people off.

Also - re:copyright etc.

This is a tough call. Someone must know how to split the legal hairs here.

Is Gene Simmons of KISS a public figure OR is Gene Simmons of KISS a copyrighted character?

Re: The Angry Girlfriend

Thanks everyone for the great comments!

Arparham's idea was a good one... for people interested in the creative process... her idea:
------------
V-Day! The nurse and the sailor. Then… do what you want in the back ground!

We could:
-his girlfriend being held back from trying to beat the nurse. (he was actually with his gf at the time and later married her.)
-have it be a photo shoot
-the world falling apart, there is only a little bit of land under them
-T-Rex is running after everyone
-THE MARSHMELLOW MAN after everyone
-Everyone is a zombie
-Anything… and they can all be changed to be more G or even use animals.
-------------

I decided to go with the girlfriend idea to keep it the most possibly happened/on theme... looks like that might not have mattered in woot's eyes, but glad people are digging it and props to Arparham for her creative idea

Vote!

Re: Fast Times With Che

Thought the "joker" face needed to pop out more. So I put the most annoying face on there I could think of.

Also tried different colors--grey, olive--but it seemed best on Communist red.

Re: Fast Times With Che Guevara

I wanted the joker's face to be more prominent, and I liked Gratzy's idea of a more olive shirt.

Got rid of the white faces--with one it was cool, with two white faces they looked like a pair of mimes.

I went with the most annoying face I could think of for the Joker.

Agreed. It also changed how we think of music and what artists rose to the forefront. I would have definitely bought this shirt had it been in the top three. Very few of the others submitted thus far interest me.
