I think it's one of those "motivational" posters or something with Churchill beating Hitler using scissors (or in this case a peace sign). It even has it's own facebook page. I think that's where I saw it, someone "liked" it on facebook. It seemed familiar, but I'm not sure if I've seen it in the shirt world yet or not.

JRWorkshop wrote:I think is too generic to represent the actual historical fact. The Zeppelin Hindenburg was a rigid old fashioned hydrogen dirigible. This is just a Superbowl blimp.
And the Wright brothers....IDK
I think you can do better than that. Actually, you still can. Just my humble opinion.

It's stylized. I think it looks neat, but other than that I'm actually really terrible at history. I mean really terrible. On a college exam, I once wrote a two page essay about how Attila the Hun was a Viking and wrecked havok in his Viking ship with his Viking helmet, and his Viking underlings (because I saw it on Muppet Babies once). He wasn't. So, I guess what I'm saying is that I'm not bothered by historical inaccuracies.

I wish there were more blue in it. That blue and cranberry or whatever color it is are beautiful, nevertheless, awesome.

Did you sub this at Threadless or somewhere? This seems very familiar for some reason, like I scored it there or something.

Yes, I sent to Threadless I while back. But it was a bit different, the dictator had a gun pointed to his head on the last shot. Hehe. I changed because some people thought it to strong. I made him just sad on this version, instead.

The sign rule confused me. Usually when they say "incidental text" they call it the "stop sign" rule, but this time they said "no signs, but text on something like the Declaration of Independence is ok." I really have no clue what "incidental text" means this time around.

And the design wasn't rushed at all. I spent more time on this design than I've ever spent on a derby entry. So it's funny that you say that.

I second it. Playing with history inaccuracy is one thing. But this seems too rushed.

I think the historic event is the election of a black man to be president. By combining the "Obama logo" with clouds, he's saying MLK is looking on from the great beyond at the moment, seeing his dream fulfilled.

It took me a minute to get it, though. I think it's actually a pretty cool idea.

At first I thought to myself, "Uh oh, here comes politics. This is doomed." Then I realized that you can only vote up, not down. Those who supported Obama will vote for it, those who didn't can't "anti-vote" for it. So it's got real potential.

I'm sure the comments here will get ugly, though, since those who don't like him will have no other way to tally their dislike.

We can tattle by saying that it's not a historical event (like I already have).

It's obviously historically inaccurate, but it's funny. The idea that the Wright Bros. were bitter old men that couldn't stand the thought of other flight technologies is both original and entertaining.

I'm not sure about the "rushed" thing. Usually when I see "seems rushed" as a criticism the design looks sloppy.... what is rushed about it?

I was thinking it would be funny if the bros wanted to destroy future flights, as if they were competition...

Re: I want my MTV

I love it, and I voted for it, but the hand looks a bit off to me. The way it's drawn, I feel like the base of the hand suggests that the top should be wider....it's sort of like you took the bottom half of a giant's hand and attached it to the top half of a baby's hand.

But again, I really like this.

Or it could just be Jean-Baptiste comte de Rochambeau who was a French General who fought on the American side in the Revolutionary war vs British general if you changed the uniforms up a bit. And be a play on the victory of the Battle of the Chesapeak...

I think this is really funny, but what I don't get is why we see the part of the squid that's underwater but not the part of the boat that's underwater.

Still love it, though.
