The artist agreed when submitting it to the terms of woot having a 60-day hold on the design. They cannot legally print it right now, as the design is woot's property at the moment.

Thanks everyone for the votes and the nice comments. I'm glad people are enjoying the design. I've had this idea for awhile but could never quite figure out how to do it so it wouldn't be too sassy for woot. =D

Re: Visual Puns

Actually, you HAVE to use the template or that alone is grounds for rejection. The printable shirt area is 20" vertical by 16" horizontal, centered on the shirt. Your design doesn't have to be centered, but has to be within that area. Go here and read the rules and download the tempalte.

Awesome t-shirt. Personally, I'd love it more if it was printed on olive green with the star in green or yellow... but that's just me.

Seems like a lot of monitors are showing this as pink, but it's definitely supposed to be on cream. Creme... crème? I feel like Woot can't even print on pink shirts.

In any case, I'm glad people are getting a kick out of the design.

Re: Propaganda for Everyday Life: Rise Up

This is obviously on a cream shirt, but the bright red in the design gives the eye the distortion that it is pink (your monitor might be fooling you as well). You'll be able to tell it's cream once you (hopefully) have it in your hands. As both someone who is a casual gamer and who works in an office, I would love to wear this shirt. Over and over again.

Glock wrote:Understandable. I think up close that the words could be read, but definitely not from afar. And as for the black shirt, I was thinking at first about using a white shirt, but then the stripes would have to be black.

I made this more for the coming of Memorial Day. I'm kind-of surprised that Woot didn't have a memorial theme, and the text-as-art derby had some great shirts in it (also, it was a lot easier to make, since I'm not that good at drawing).

A Memorial Day theme is probably dancing a little too close to politics for Woot. I can only imagine the submissions...

All that aside, this is a great shirt! I agree it might be a tough print, but still is very cool.

Re: Derby 36: Text as Art - Declaration of America

You'd probably want it a little higher on the shirt, but I agree it's a nice concept. And at the very least - whether it'd be legible or not - the font creates a unique distressed texture effect.

Wow Ramyb, I admire your thick skin. The pettiness in this discussion absolutely blows my mind, but maybe I'm just not jaded enough by wasted hours nitpicking other people's creativity out of pure, unsophisticated jealousy.

Anyway, maybe this will be a bright spot in your day: I love your designs, always have, and I'll buy this one if it goes to print! Keep up the good work!
