Where is everybody?

When I was a kid I wanted to be older, this CRAP is NOT what I expected.

Pondering making chocolate chip cookie dough.

Thinking I should have walked further today, but the blisters on my feet from the new sandals say otherwise.

My speech is not parsing. I am speaking in ellipsis.

Nope, not the bowl, just the cone. Chose the chocolate dipped cone. What a rip-off. Maybe an inch was dipped in chocolate, if that. I thought it would be the whole inside of the cone.

Six of us were arguing last night, chocolate chip cookies with or without nuts. It was three and three.

Not much walking today. Too hot.
Son took dog out after dinner with father in law.
I came home after him and the dog wanted to walk....until he got outside.
We went until he pooped and then he stopped dead at the block that was the fastest way home. When I turned down that block, he was happy.
But take him into the AC and he wants to play!

Dog was born down south, and he hates heat!

WE LURV YOU TOO! Dork!!!

If you'll notice, he didn't stay in the South. Smart dog.

mine are without, but that's mostly because I'm not a fan of most nuts. almonds and cashews, pistachios. Peanuts if honey roasted. Otherwise...not a fan. Well, not true, I love macadamias, but have a nasty reaction to them.

Interesting.

Luby's is buying Fuddruckers. Evidently, Fuddrucker's parent company hasn't been doing well and filed Chapter 11.

It was between Luby's and the parent company of Freebirds.

Since Luby's is Houston based, I guess that's good for us

Sure seems like he's aiming for them!

There's a lot of problems with their relationship with my brother and having heard the same story multiple times, there's no doubt it was his fault. That has made the son hesitant to meet us. The other niece has a baby and was just worn out.

If nothing else maybe the good in all of this is that it is an opportunity for a new begining for them all.

for us and them, yes. For them with their father, it will always be tenuous at best. And I don't blame those kids one bit. I made sure they knew it too.

You're not him.
I know people with no contact with the parent and maintained relationships with the other relatives.
Of course it helps if the person they have no contact with doesn't live near any of them.

I like nuts with most ice-creams if they are available. I guess I'm in a minority here.

edit: well, guess I misread it. In the case of cookies, the statement is still true though.

and you just banged right on the #1 reason not to live within driving distance of Des Moines. Although Orc is the only of his siblings that voluntarily communicates, only because he feels it is the proper thing to do and if ever there is a chance that a change occurs the only way he'll be there for it.

TT - I hope you can get some contact with the nieces and nephews sometimes it's hard to understand that you aren't going to side with their dad.

poof - nuts in chocolate chip??? You East Coast people are weird. Unless you are talking white chocolate macadamia, mmmmm.

Well I've never had nuts in chocolate chip, other cookies sure, and there is the endless brownie debate with walnuts, but I've never even seen a chocolate chip for sale with nuts in, let alone eaten one. Just sayin' My experiences are mostly limited to the West Coast with a couple quick forays into the South, plus having had a grandma who was from the South.

Yeah, I know a lot of things are out there, I just don't use pecans for anything except the two things I stated. Lol, I guess I don't get too creative with meats. I like really spicey meats, or meats I can splash with lemon.
