Re: De-evolution Explained For Dummies

YOu, too, are headed for rejection, I'm afraid. There is not Woot shirt template, and your thumbnail image doesn't match the larger composition. Either will get you canned.

Re: We're We Not Men?

OH, my, this derby is just rife with folks not reading the instructions. Friend: YOu thumbnail should be some part of your design - somethign to catch the voter's eye. Your larger composition needs to be presented on a Woot shirt template.
And tip: resize your files yourself so the Wootbot doesn't have to. It'll cut down on the wonkiness of the image from compression.

Re: Huboon

Huh. I see you uploaded your thumbnail file with a transparent background. That makes it look different from your shirt composition. I'm not sure what Woot will do with that, but I suspect the rejectionator will take exception. You can resub with the thumbnail on black to match the shirt.
My own personal quibble is that this is a chimp, not a baboon. So, why 'Hubboon'?

Re: DEVOlutionVille portable time waster

While it may be that awful heather template messing with my eyes, I'm pretty sure the placement on this could use a little tweaking. The design is pretty darned big. You might want to shrink it down a bit. I like the diagonal orientation. But again, without the collar of the shirt as a guide, it's hard to tell but I think this is up too high.

Re: Down with Music

Nice finished product! I wasn't too impressed with the design when I first saw your original posting. But this came out very nicely! What terrific color choices, too! I actually hope you can sub this elsewhere without the energy dome in the speech bubble. It actually fights the design, and you'd be better off without it (rules, rules!).

Re: Am I Devo Flowchart

YOu've got a lot of issues with file compression here, making your image look really blurry. And are you using clipart. Not good...

Very cool design. Simple, to the point, something I would actually wear with pride.

Good luck.

cofeature wrote:GMV! Love the surreal look and the detail. Whippets are my breed of choice and you did a great job with her. The tail could be a little less "bottle brushy" but the head detail is great. She doesn't look like a greyhound. I hope it prints!

Hi there,

thanks for the compliment on the whippet. I know the tail is a bit off, but I made it intentionally a bit 'poofy' at the end because I wanted it to cover the girl a tad more. I was afraid people would think she was 'nude', so I took a bit of 'creative license' there ^^;. Looking back, I do wish I would have made the tail a bit more accurate. I am glad you are ok with it over all though. Whippets are so beautiful :D.

watchtherain wrote:Gotta say, I definitely love the design. I was extremely pessimistic about the 'Devo' Derby.. I'm not really a fan and couldn't fathom wearing a shirt for their music when it was announced.. but this design made me stop and want to look at it again and again... and again. You got my vote.. and when you win, I'll definitely consider grabbing one.

If you ever wind up making this into a print.. please let me know? THAT I'd definitely buy..

Thank you so much! I would love to make this into a nice art print. If it were to print here I'd fall over, hahaha. <--from surprise I really appreciate all the support, it means more to me than a win. It was a huge risk and a trial for me, personally, with art. I'm so happy people like it overall. :D

you definitely weren't the only one. My twitter feed was going crazy with all my friend's victory cries. So freakin awesome! I got to see the US team play a couple months ago and they won last second like that against el salvador. this was that magnified by a thousand. Wear your jersey with pride!

not if you call each color by their generic names. Gray, Gray, Gray, Purple, purple, blue, blue, blue, yellow, green, green, white.

That's only 6 colors.
