Re: Neapolitan Metropolitan
I love it!
Re: Boom Town/City
Re: Boom Town/City
Not sure that's a Death Star. My first thought was that it's Reunion Tower.
I thought Woot was based near Dallas. ;)
BBOOOOOO!!! I agree with above statement.
Not a big SW fan...but I certainly don't see "Death Star" in this.
What I see is a city built ontop a giant MUSHROOM CLOUD. (Well, OK...first, I saw a giant tree trunk)
(PS - why not just replace with "Space Needle" from Seattle?)
Reminds me of DW episode The Beast Below.
That...and I just like whales!
Re: It's Your Grandkids Marty!
Didn't get the Gunslinger reference at all...but then not familiar with the books.
What I did get, was the B2tF reference (Marty - kids). The rest of it reminded me of Wells The Time Machine.
"Your kids turned out to be Morlocks" - LOL - betcha Marty wasn't looking for that!
Re: City on the hill
Thanks everyone for the comments and votes!
And don't worry blanked, I could only take a comparison to Burton and Seuss as a positive comment:P
AWESOME, but I woulda done it Horizontal. :D
Dude, I'd totally just resubmit this, but lose the sphere building thing.
Then you're a winner in my eyes. :D
Day-um. This is one nice looking shirt. GMV! I could always wear this and pretend I actually went to Mach-Picchu, lol. No joke, this design is really souvenir quality, and I'll buy this for like everyone I know.
This is sick
Thanks for the comments!!! This one was fun because the idea I had originally ended up being nothing like what I ended up with. Sometimes it's best to just wing it and see what develops when you let your design just happen the way it wants to. I'm pretty happy with it.
Thanks for the votes and support, hope you all enjoy it!
scarletrayne wrote:You beat me to it! I was also going to say intestines. What are they really?
yeah, i'm seeing the intestines now - stand by for a resub!
Re: City Living
Reminds me of the apartment building on Sesame Street, especially with the animals in the windows. All you need is a trash can out front! Cute idea.
Just curious - is there a special connection between Albuquerque and whales?
Re: A Strange View
It's cute (I think) but could you post a link to a larger version so we can see the details?
Re: Watchful Protector
Man, I love cityscapes. This week rocks.
Re: Greedy Snake
C'est un boa a l'exterieur!
Re: Rooftop Hopscotch
Thanks guys for all the awesome response so far! you make my day, and happy 4th of july!
Re: New City, New Beginning
I like the style, but it's a little too emo for me. I know it's cliche, but I'd like to see this done with more of a cool vibe, and less melodramatically. That's just my opinion.
Re: We built this city
I wanted to hate this design, since I think it's doing that "liking this song ironically" thing that hipsters do, but... all told, this design is really well done. I am forced to vote for it, because it's just that good.
jmmbell1987 wrote:This is definitely a slick, solid design. However, "We Built This City" is a contender for my least favorite song of all time. :P
Actually, VH1 voted it the worst song of all time.
And thus its revival began.
AWESOME!!! GMV, and good luck!!
Re: The Real Sin City
This is a good representation, but treads very close to woot's PG-13 boundary, which some define as more like PG-10.
Re: Clouds are more Townsfolk
They look like Storm Trooper helmets.
Danwilson wrote:I totally want one. Not a fan of the color though. I would prefer black or grey since I already bought an animal themed one that appears similar to this one from a distance with animals forming the organs
I have to admit that I don't own any cream-colored shirts, but I was trying really hard to match the color and feel of ...that one maps service... Thanks for the feedback!
Oh, and you say the clouds were an after-thought? Because I might have voted for this shirt without them.
Re: Whorl Wide Panic
I think the funniest thing about this shirt is that the fingerprints would be much bigger than any human could make, so it makes me think that the prints were made by someone like..... King Kong's son. And I can totally picture him creating this piece of art. Ha! Makes me chuckle.
Well now this is flipping adorable. +1
Close, but not quite. It looks more like Sacramento than Abq. I've lived in both. If the blimp were a hot air balloon it would be closer.
I voted for it anyways, because I am a fan of the Hitchiker's Guide, and it reminds me of that whale.
Re: UNDERWORLD V.2
I absolutely love the design, I'm just not sure how it'll work on green.
Re: Google Maps destroys the city
Get rid of the zoom bar, change the letters(c,d,e, etc)
Re: Nature's City
Why hasn't this been rejected? It literally could not be less on-theme.
I love the concept. You have an excellent idea there, one I think I'd buy...but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. The artwork is too sloppy to be appealing.
Makes me think of Frasier.
Creative! Way to think outside of the box
Re: Keep off the gargoyles!
Great work Spiritgreen, the gargoyle looks awesome! It did take me a moment to figure out what was going on, but I kinda liked that
Re: Reflections of the Past
How very Akira of you.
GMV and I'm in for 3.
Re: Mad City (ReSub)
I hope you all enjoy this one.
all i could think of was the twin towers
What program are you using to draw this? Illustrator?
Siax wrote:well in my opinion some spots are pixelated and can be cleaned up just a bit.
but I still like the idea and the design
alright man, thanks for the tips.
