CrescentDebris wrote:No no, this is why the last version existed. Drakxxx said "hay dood what u think of dis comp?" I was like "WOooooah I like that big moon close up, let me make a version like dat"

Turns out, they were already in love with the thread version and rose against the big moon version.

Sorry if I'm getting confused, but I thought you'd accidentally used both versions in this resub. I figured you were intending to go with the small, high moon as people seem to prefer it (I do!) but the larger image still shows the original, low, big moon.

(Maybe they don't have to match? I'm not clear on the rules - but I thought you guys *meant* for the two images here to be the same but had made a mistake. I was only saying it to try to be helpful. ^_^)

Re: It Came For Cotton Candy

Simply and brilliantly wonderful! I could rave about this design for paragraphs!

The beautiful line work on the Capitol building, the fun and simplicity of the monster, the texture on the cotton candy, the use of the Washington monument as the stick, and the absolute brilliance of giving us just the outline of all the attacking military vehicles and men, which makes it a definite and noticeable part of illustration, yet leaves the focus exactly where it should be - the monster!

I am simply blown away by this, spiritgreen. It would be a crime if this isn't available Friday morning.

PS - This is also the only illustration recently with falling bombs that isn't trite and overdone.

I appreciate you. So you know, I haven't slept at ALL and everything is becoming extremely amusing so that wasn't meant to be taken negatively.

The thumbnail image has to match the shirt design. All they care about is the design ON the shirt. You see people do a low opacity version behind the image. Drakxxx does it on most comps. This was intended to show the detail of the bottom and then the ghosted image of the moon at a low opacity. Drakxxx sent me the comp just to see what I thought and I liked the idea of a close up moon. SO, I delayed him and made a version similar to that. We debated about which to go with and wondered what headaches would ensue. Yep. Haha. Oh well. Vote for "Duck and Cover" when it hits. Only ONE version of that coming out :P

And you know, as long as you all are saying "liked better", that's cool. At least it's not "sucked less".

Wicked design, especially the colors and the cosmos effect behind the fighters.

Really nice. +1

Walmazan, if I am ever a famous celebrity, I'm going to make you my personal clothing designer. I can see it now...walking the red carpet in adorable tees, and everyone will swoon.

Ok, maybe not everyone would swoon, but I would totally act like they were. Love all of your designs, this one is for me! ++++++1

This looks really great, although I'm not a huge fan of the green on the ground. I like it around right around the manatees, but not feeling the rest of it.

...do you think someone from SyFy might see this and add it to their mutated/genetically altered "insert animal/insect" movie of the week? The thought makes me giggle.

What a great illustration. There's so much to look at, lots of interesting little details. I really like it.

I'm worried for you about your design placement, it appears to be outside the template area that woot allows.

You got my vote, if your design gets rejected, you'll get it again! Good luck!

This isn't really the end of the world; it's more like the end of one life. Narcissists always confuse the two.

"If drinking is bitter, change yourself to wine." -Rainer Maria Rilke

"Champagne is a very kind and friendly thing on a rainy night." -Isak Dinesen

"There are many ways to the recognition of truth; Burgundy is one of them." -Isak Dinesen

I think the moon should be somewhere in between and I liked the clouds from the rough drawing. The black and white version is great also and could totally work on a white tee. The colors almost seem to take away the impact for me.

Thanks, Spirit. I like how consistently clean and polished your look is. (I'm guessing mostly vectors?) It doesn't hurt that your ideas bring a smile to my face on a regular basis. Your style is infectiously envious. I abandoned vectors on this entry just because it takes me TOO long. Your ability to put out such quality work in such a short timespan is amazing. I definitely tip my cap to you, and throw a vote your way.

Nothing like a good shirt.woot argument. Gets me through a whole class.

The placement wouldn't be a problem with the common man's basement rig. I don't know about how the commercial machine thang works, though. Either way it's good, and placement is easily remedied.
