Re: pandemonium

For some reason it took me a long time to see the panda in this. But now that I've seen the panda, I like it! Not sure I'd wear it though...

Woot: I'm in it for the monkeys.

That's actually my favorite part of it too. This was actually pretty fun to color, all of the colors just sort of fell into place.

The end of the world is a matter of perspective.

EDIT: The design is 6 colors on Creme. Black, Red, Green, Blue, Yellow and Peach.

I think it's funny and creative; however, i think it would be better if the end of the world was a thought bubble because with out the title of your shirt, it just looks like the world really is ending and some man gave this kid a balloon.

Re: Don't call them pretty ponies...

Icons depicting the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse on Asphalt:
- Conquest/Pestilence (with the Bow and Crown) on a White horseshoe
- War (with the Sword) on a fiery Red horseshoe (PMS 185 C and PMS 1505 C)
- Famine (with the decaying Scales) on a Black horseshoe
- Death (with the Scythe and Bones) on a Pale Green horseshoe (PMS 578 C)

I was originally going for the look of the "Rock Band" icons (all four in a straight line), but liked this layout better once it was done.

Side note: If you saw last week's "Into the Great Unknown" with the little girl and the dog going adventuring, that was my wife's. Since she started using my account to submit derby entries, I had to submit this one under her account (because our two drawing styles do not live in the same world!)

Re: josh simlove

Where do we start...

You are only allowed to use 6 colors (each color on a different layer).
The design must be placed on a T-shirt template.
No gradients (use halftones instead).

I don't mean to sound like a $%#^. but this is t-shirt printing (screen printing). A simple snap shot of you favorite painting won't fly here.

Rejection incoming!!!

Re: josh simlove

Also your small icon should match your "t-shirt design."

If you are simply trying to promote yourself as a painter and nothing more, then send me a message. There a far better sites to promote traditional painters.

It's just like it except the style is different, the composition is different, the message is different, the target audience is different, and this one doesn't use a copyrighted character.

This is a better shirt in every respect, and would, I think, outsell "knock knock" if given the chance.

What? lol, I cant imagine who wouldn't want a shirt with a 9 tailed demon fox on it, that captures the essence of the "end of the world" derby theme just right.

Good point, bad analogy. Though names can be copyrighted, (which doesn't really apply here since the names of the two shirts are different) a recipe can't. That's why there was the Big Mac and the Big King, identical sandwiches both with 2 patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions on a sesame seed bun. Comparing to a book or song would make more sense.

I think the idea is that the world really is ending but the kid is more concerned about losing his balloon. I like the scratchy style here. It gives the design a nice texture.

On another note, you have more than the limit of 6 colors here. You'll need to revise and resubmit your design because this version will be rejected.

No way, everybody knows the knock-knock joke, it's been around for generations. Lots and lots of people including myself have NO clue what this is referring to, thus the shirt makes no sense at all.

Not saying it wouldn't sell well with moms and teachers and whatnot, but it wouldn't come close to "knock knock"

Yeah I realize Pestilence is the more common name, but I put Conquest since it made more sense visually. But in any case the name shouldn't matter since it's not in the title or the design. o/

Well....this is out of the fog I see. So much for my birthday month being full of wonder and magic. ;_; I havent wanted a shirt this bad in a derby in a very long time. I will now go off and mope.

I hope someday I can be a billionaire so I can print everyone's stuff and open a giant intergalactic shirt shop on Mars. I dream big, what can I say?

Fantastic job, Spirit!

Re: The End is Near !!!

this is great!

great perspective work with the buildings...

its still a little boxy though... maybe if you rounded the image some, chose places to cut into it or extend it to make is more blob shaped and less rectangular. maybe it is the straight edges (even torn) that gives it that look...

either way, i still dig it!

good work!
