I would wear, like, four of these at the same time. Excellent work.

One reason Pink Floyd sold so many damn copies of "Dark Side of the Moon" was that the vinyl warped or got scratched, the cassettes broke, or the 8-tracks spooled out like the cassettes on this picture.

Alas, the "One Way" sign is gonna getcha.

Really? My understanding was incidental text was acceptable. Like words on a map that someone is holding.

shirt.woot changes their rules every derby. They will occasionally allow full text, sometimes incidental text. Mostly, though, they say no text allowed. It's written up at the top of the derby page in the rules. It gets a lot of people when they're starting. ;)

For the road trip derby that was true, but there is usually a full 'no text' rule on most derbies, including this one. This is a great design though. Very interesting!

Re: Velociraptors

At first, I was very confused by this design. I didn't know what it stood for, until somebody mentioned Four Horsemen. So I did what any other person would do..I googled it. =) I must say that this design is quite brilliant and I absolutely love the raptors touch! I also love that you took the time to add in those small details, i.e. the bow, weights, etc. to symbolize the different men. Definitely got my vote! =)

Thanks!

I'm actually surprised there weren't several others along with yours and ours. We were originally using the same name "Pluto's Revenge," but fortunately noticed yours before submitting. Didn't want to seem like we were ripping off your idea. :D

At first I thought the Earth was happy, then I realized it was gashed open... and that the "nose" was actually a very unhappy mouth.

I think it'd be funnier if it was a realistic picture of the moon with a Vader helmet on, minus the Earth.
If the Earth had to be included, it should have a smaller gash.

However, I love the fact the the eyebrows on the Earth are parts of the polar regions xD

Re: spoon

Sorry, friend, but this shirt won't compete here. Read Woot's rules before subbing to a Derby - No text allowed. Has nothing whatever to do with the Derby theme. And even if subbed as a daily, it's not on a Woot template or a Woot color.
And, you can buy shirts like this all over the 'net and in tourist towns. Oh, and Woot doesn't print front and back.
Pay attention next time and try again though.

Re: Invasion

Wow. It's been awhile since I've seen a new take on the cassette tape theme. Nice work! Really too bad the text is on there (due to the rule) - while it's nice, it's not necessary.

I'd also prefer this on heather, but olive isn't bad.

Hi Paige! I am working as a face painter now you can check out my bosses website www.facemania.biz and I work alot on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. I want to set up a blog to show some of my "faces" and my past tshirt entries soooooon!! Meantime, I have also been in Maine all summer and we don't have a computer there.

I hope I can fit in a design this week but I am face painting the next 4 nights straight. Then Maine for a week. This weeks topic is so distressing to me, my husband loves those documentaries on the end of the world and 2012 and all that, me, I hate it! I was so glad to see the uplifting nature of yours and so many other entries, excellent and otterific and funny and optimistic handling of this topic, well done!

It reminds you "a lot" of the Threadless shirt? Because they both have panda's? Because they are both a similar play on words? I smell a troll.

Re: Only Two Things can Survive the Apocalypse...

This, this is what it is all about, ladies and gentlemen. This is how it shall end. Not with us mere humans, who trample our enemies afoot or ingest them with gusto, but in the epic battle between the spongy sweet goodness of cream laden confections and the earth dwelling ground crawlers. Both resistant to nuclear nefariousness, both nauseating after eating a baker's dozen, they are the final two elements, the post apocalyptic yin and yang. Always fighting, yet needing each other in a poetic slurry of that which is what we have strived to become: rail thin and sickly, or so filled with fat and sugar we have no shape until you put a handkerchief or hat on us.

A toast, to the two great victors of this world!

LOL at the image of the DVDs as weapons!

And I love the colors here. The black line art on olive with just the cassettes in color - very striking. And I love how the orange one draws your eye into the heart of the detail way deep in the perspective.

You could easily lose that little bit of text - the arrow alone serves as the sign.

I am new to Woot. I have noticed several entries using halftones. My concern with them is that having them in the artwork can cause problems if the art is scaled down. Smaller dots will not hold up.
I would rather have the halftones defined when outputting the film.

Thanks. It would be a minor revision. I am not sure if it is possible to edit the design now that it has been submitted. I guess I'll just have fun watching how many votes I can receive before the Alphabet Police kick down the door and break up my invasion party.
