I'm going to have to agree with Spiritgreen. I prefer the original version of this piece, but this version is good too.

Re: Unexpected Error

already hit yes for the vote, but the black-ear / yellow-ear seem excessively contrasting... only thing that bothers me... dont suppose theres anyway to tone the yellow down and maybe let more of the orange through on the black side?

How does this fit the theme?

"If drinking is bitter, change yourself to wine." -Rainer Maria Rilke

"Champagne is a very kind and friendly thing on a rainy night." -Isak Dinesen

"There are many ways to the recognition of truth; Burgundy is one of them." -Isak Dinesen

Same here.

And I was really curious to see how you would lay it out on the shirt. I saw some huge potential (with the moon up in the air) for original placement.

O well. It's still awesome.

Thanks guys for the feedback guys. I have the original layout as well, and if it's preferred, I'll get that one up instead. We we're running a little late, and I didn't have time tio get to the 2 versions in the feedback forum unfortunately.

I would definitely prefer the original layout, I just think the image is more striking with the separation. I think it looks more artistic that way, and I would love an apocalypse themed shirt that is more artistic.

(I have a question for you concerning your art actually, would it be cool if I PM you?)

lexaverial wrote:I honestly don't like this comp nearly as much as the original. The colors are pretty good, but the moon is just killing it for me. When it was up higher the seen just looked so intense and forlorn. Definitely got my vote, but eh, it isn't nearly as good looking as the original comp. Sort of loses it's impact. The first image was just so lonely, the moon seems to crowd this and it makes it feel less lonely. That sounds weird, but eh, I can't explain it any better.

I have to agree. I thought the separation of the moon from the rest of the design was the key. It was so far away, making the wistfulness of the kid and the dog seem just right. Now the moon is almost looming, and I don't think it fits with the emotion of the piece as well.

I'm going to have to disagree with everyone... I realllllllly like how you did the moon. It looks really cool. I wouldn't mind seeing the other version finished, but I was really excited when I clicked and saw the moon this way. I think it's beautiful. The other one was very forlorn, but this version of the moon gives it a "so close but so far" kind of sad feeling.

I also really like the style difference between the foreground and the moon. The original moon with the bold outlines didnt look as... realistic, i guess?

Also, this design is (potentially) more wearable than the other. You had a strong separation between the ground and the moon in the first one, and on the shirt it might mean that the ground would be on the belly, with the moon near the shoulder. If you do put the other one up, you might want to avoid the belly placement. I know a lot of people don't dig the belly emphasis =)

/2cents from moi.

+1 no matter what. You guys are awesome. And I love cranberry

Re: earthquake, birds and snakes, an aeroplane

wow. this is great! we had the same idea, and I'm even using boxes across the shirt with each scene from the song....though they are rendered differently and I don't have an exploding earth. At the end, I have a guy showing a thumbs up because he feels fine, but still.

I'm not nearly done yet, though, so I may not even try to finish.

well done, and GMV.

Eek, I spoke too soon I just finished commenting on the other one. I like how you kept the moon looking the same, it looks really cool. I'm worried about the belly placement though, might cost you some votes. Both are awesome though =)

I like the other one better, so I'm going to keep my vote there. But if you decide to eliminate that one, then I'll shift my vote over here

Can't wait to see your other 2 designs (especially that crazy ducky!)

Small quibble, but it should be his other eye that's closed. Hardly anyone would notice though, so it's probably not worth changing.

No no, this is why the last version existed. Drakxxx said "hay dood what u think of dis comp?" I was like "WOooooah I like that big moon close up, let me make a version like dat"

Turns out, they were already in love with the thread version and rose against the big moon version.

Brilliantly drawn, although I have to be honest. The skeleton in the car makes it a little morbid to be something I'd wear.

Awwww, I loved the new layout. The composition was much stronger on the shirt. On this version the bulk of the design will end up really far down.

In any case, this is still a lovely design and a very heartfelt scene. Great work, I think this is going to make it!
