Really love the color choices, and it's such an interesting image! Anyone who doesn't know about the Owlman would totally stop to look at the image closer. Great stuff, +1!

bah, i hate when that happens, everythings working out, you got six colors, and then BAM, oh no i forgot about the line drawing.

just use the shirt color instead of the black outline and resubmit! its a great design.

Agreed. I'm a bit amazed at all of the cutesy designs in this derby, as there's nothing really cute about cryptozoology.

But I love this shirt. I really hope it prints.

Re: My First Cryptozoology Mix and Match Book

A cryptid has to find out it's origins from a reliable source. For an unconfirmed creature a mix and match book is as good as 'Where Did I Come From?'.

And now I feel the need to inform you that do to the Earth's spin the planet isn't perfectly round. It flattens at the poles and bulges at the equator, its just hard to notice from the surface of the planet ;)

It does say "6 colors on asphalt" in the comp under the title. I think he should have resubbed it when I commented about it a couple hours into the derby. Color issues aside, his artwork goes over the collar and even onto the tag.

LOL I heard girls have it pretty rough out there. I talked to another artist who made the leap from my school to move out there. She said it was a trial every day to not want to buy a flamethrower and torch all the hot chicks around town.. Hahahaha!

nice design. imo the submarine placement could go a little more to the side. it would then slightly resemble one of those alligator or polo shirts.

I was wondering if this is in any way a Decemberists reference? They have one song called Shiny, and another that mentions a will-o-wisp. If not thats cool too, I just thought it might be.

I am actually unfamiliar with that band. They any good?

I chose Will-O-Wisp because I remember it was a creature card from Magic. I use to play that game with my brother in the early/mid 90s.

Honestly, I have no clue were the phrase "Oh Shiny" originated. I just know people use it when they see something appealing, valuable or simple shiny. When I read, "...sometimes said to recede if approached" off the wiki page, I needed a motive for someone to follow it. "Oh Shiny" came to mind fairly quickly (the image on the wiki page probably helped with that). However, if the Decemberist were the first to coin the phrase "Oh Shiny," then yes... I am unwittingly referencing them.

Glad you enjoy it.

I dislike the halftone shading on the wheels, inner shack, and shack door, but that just a personal preference. However, your characters are sooOOO appealing that I have to vote for this!!!

Nice concept too. Good job!
