Re: Robot in the Rain

Thanks for the comments guys. I think I agree with you for the dark blue shirt. I was thinking of overcast and that kinda goes with the baby blue color, but I think overall for the mood the navy would have been better. Hindsight heh.

Jas, I hope you are marketing this style somewhere profitable. Your design is deceptively simple. The story in the design triggers pleasant childhood memories for many of your viewers. There's money in that combination.

I actually saw a guy with that shirt on, right outside dunkin donuts.
I did point out to him it was a woot shirt, but I didn't have the nerve to ask to take a picture.
Oh well.

It is only my 3rd sighting. What are the odds of seeing that shirt in that location ?

Re: Teabags

Haha, this is funny, I like the style and the expressions on the teabags. I think it would look better on olive (one of the few shirts that would) - mostly so that you wouldn't need the olive-colored background behind the teabags. Also, I'm not a fan of olive on black or gray

Good luck!

Seconded - I love the design! While the red shirt really does make the design pop, it is a little too clashing for my eyes. A little too much "pop" if that makes sense

WanderingRaccoon wrote:This is funny and cute, but it seems a little long for a shirt design. I feel like it'd be better if you could have compacted it down into just 6 or maybe 9 boxes, instead of streching it out over 15.

I mean, the story comes across perfectly without a "the end" and also didn't really need three boxes of the cloud just standing around doing nothing in the begining. I just think if you'd streamlined the story into fewer boxes, then you could make the boxes a little bigger (if you want) which would make people get the joke faster.

Long as it is right now, if I walked past someone wearing this, I don't think I'd see it long enough to get it. I feel like you could make a shorter version of this and submit it as a v2 and let people vote between the two of them. You know, if you wanted to.

Seconded. I don't know if there is enough time to resubmit, but I would encourage it! This has some great potential!

Re: Imagine Sunny Days

Nice, I really like the clean lines and simple design, and the colors look good on the green shirt. The texture isn't bad either. I do think it would look better a little smaller on the chest - maybe 2/3 the size? 1/2?

Re: Watching The Rain

This is a cute design! My sister loves cats, and I like the style of how this is drawn. The eyes are a little creepy, colored in solid like that though. I'm not sure why... maybe it makes me think of Jack Skellington from Nightmare Before Christmas

Re: Go Big or Go Home

Haha, this turned out very intense looking! Not at all like I imagined from the pre-derby thread! The textured background and the teeny drops are a nice touch. Good job

The raindrops in the background makes the composition a little difficult to focus on the main raindrop, since they are all multi-colored like the big guy. His glasses/goggles are a little strange too (though when playing Xtreme sports, eye protection is a must!)

Re: Raindrop Microcosm

I would love to see a closeup of each raindrop to see the detail - judging by the one shown, they are bound to be very interesting! Nice job on the dithering too, that must have taken forever. The turquoise water looks strange on the blue blue shirt however, perhaps consider putting it on a different color (asphalt? black? light blue?) or perhaps adjusting the hue value so that it's a little more blue and a little less green

Re: OH S*LT!

That text isn't incidental, I'm afraid this is due for the rejectionator. The parody of the Morton salt logo girl is probably ok, since it seems clear the joke is about her umbrella breaking, though don't quote me on that.

Re: Caught In The Rain

Hahaha, that's hilarious (and kinda sad...)

My one observation is that the snowman is melting on the side that is AWAY from the driving rain... where in reality he would melt on the side that is facing into the rain instead

Looking back I wish I'd gone for the olive tee myself. ^^; I think it's my second favorite tee color, next to the grass green. Thanks for your input!

Oh, but the drips of melting snow being blown away from the hole in the side of mr. snowman are GREAT, I love how they were drawn!

I think the only weakness in this design is how the colors in it clash with the color of shirt chosen. A different color and I'd totally be on board.

Re: Splish Splash. made by a kid

God, I hate it when people do stuff like that. It's cool if your kid wants to make a design like you did, but to put "made by a kid" in the title is pure pandering. Way to play on people's "awwwwwww" factor.

Hilarious. It's always fun see a recurring character! Soon we will see all the seedy secrets that duck is hiding as the story continues to unravel. I'm just not buying his innocent little act this week. There's evil in this duck. I will not be fooled.
