The pink bird really pops out on this one. This is very artistic. I don't see anything else like it in the derby. Great job!

This is a cool design. It kind of reminds me of Trogdor too. Wow, haven't heard that name in a while.

Re: The Cat in the Dog

Oh, I love Dr. Suess, and that Cat in the Hat can be a nuisance. However, I wish the artwork was more... "Suessy". More squiggles and giggles, and the dog could have looked a little more like Max? Great Job though! :D

I really like the idea of this design, but I agree. I wish something was a little more "poppy".

I don't get the "I'd hang it on my wall" comments like this for artistic designs. Who ever sees designs like this on walls? This is very a wearable design, and perfect for shirts.

frik wrote:It played to my awwww factor. If it wasn't sort of neat, it wouldn't have gotten my vote, but I liked the simple art of it and the fact it was a kid's attempt makes it that much more worthy of my vote. So what, it helps add maybe a few more handful of votes? Not like it's going to contribute 2000 votes and a published shirt here, unless of course it was worthy.

As you can see in above comments, another designer already commented that s(he) now feels like a 6-year-old can do better artwork as it's gotten more votes than their design. I know of course that was probably said a little tongue-in-cheek and this doesn't have a chance of winning, but in the past when others have done stuff like this, it ended up in the hotness, denying another actually possibly printable artist the valuable exposure.

And I couldn't disagree with you more that it being done by a kid makes it more worthy of your vote. The age of the artist should have no bearing on your vote whatsoever. The artistry and adherence to theme should be what matters. Sure it's on theme, but it does look like it was done by a child. It's not high-quality art (no offense, sTyLeS or child. I'm sure I just sound like a grouchy kid-hater here).

You say this has no chance of printing, but what if enough people think like you do and vote for the "awwww" factor? It's already up to 20 votes after having been submitted on a holiday. At the least, as I said, it could end up in the hotness, which is valuable real estate.

I have a baby bright blue sky AND showers where I am right now — colour choice doesn't seem all that off to me. I could see this being a popular shirt for the Woot kiddies. Like the off center placement, GMV!

Re: Hippie Shower

I don't get everyones general disdain of red, it would be a nice change of pace from cranberry, and especially from all the awful grey, black, and brown shirts that win the derbies normally.
