Re: Ceiling Smilodon

Does this not potentially fall under the category of "we've already printed similar designs", or should we all just prepare ourselves for infinite entries of things looking through a hole in the ceiling until this meme has died a death?

Re: Prehistoric Duo

While I would of prefered a harsher rejection message... Something involving a tiger attack and getting pissed on... I'm just glad it's rejected.

Unfortunately I think Ramy can still pull it so there'll be no record of his theft... Well, until next time he pulls some garbage like this.

Munchy Attack If you can find the name of this artist & real song title I'll buy you a daily woot shirt (your choice what day)

Dystopia Dark Lager, Where the Wild Parties at?, B.A. Bearacus, and many more wanted in XXL(PLEASE!!!)

This is -very- cool, Drakxxx. You're immediately on my good side calling it Monster Hunter, and then you hit the combo with the amazing dragon design and overall impact of the stylish layout.

Then consider it a Harold and the Purple Crayon shirt instead!

Honestly, that's where my first thoughts went anyway! Barney didn't even register until I started reading the comments.

While I agree with you that RamyB needs to be told off by someone in authority, think of it this way. I'm only using this example because you mentioned your mother.

I have a toddler. My toddler (shockingly) does things wrong sometimes. Sometimes she talks back to me in public (a HUGE no no in our house). Sometimes she disobeys me...in public. Sometimes she throws tantrums...in public. But I don't correct her in public. I pick her up and take her somewhere private, because it's between me and her. Even if she disobeyed me in public. Even just around family. Always in private.

Now you might say, but RamyB is a man and not a baby. True, but you are still treated with respect (even if you don't deserve it) as an adult. Ever been fired from a job in public? It doesn't usually happen like that. You get taken to a private office. Ever been reprimanded by your boss or teacher in public, even if you were clearly in the wrong? Its humiliating and counterproductive. I'm not saying *ALL* public reprimands are bad, I'm just saying, Woot tends to err on the side of respect whether it's deserved or not. While I would like as much as the next person to see RamyB go down flaming, he's still a human, misguided and terrible as he might be. Woot rejected his design. That's all that matters. We don't need a public lynching.

I refuse to answer on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

This is where my disagreement begins. Not everyone gets respect. It's not an inherent right.

As far as the public reprimand: someone needs to be made an example of and I can think of no one better than one of the two most blatant cheaters to ever curse woot with his/her presence.

"If drinking is bitter, change yourself to wine." -Rainer Maria Rilke

"Champagne is a very kind and friendly thing on a rainy night." -Isak Dinesen

"There are many ways to the recognition of truth; Burgundy is one of them." -Isak Dinesen

I do like your Picasso very much, sogj.
I hope it stays fogged.
IMO it's way more worthy than some of the other current fogged designs.

Very clean, subtle, and pleasant. This one deserves a bit more attention.

I dig it! It's awkwardly tranquil (probably due to the setting) and very interesting.

I think it's just a matter of precedence.
The Sesame Street one did get rejected, and rightfully so.
I'm hoping both the cheeburger and the ceiling cat will be as well.

A - chzbrger cat is clearly parody of an internet meme. We also, I believe, have a ceiling smilodon. Both are in the public domain.
B - not sure about the 'sesame street' one - haven't run across it yet.
C - Calvin and Hobbes is exclusive to the artist who created it and is not free to copy. And, because this doesn't effectively parody, it's infringing on copyright.

Re: Unusual Herd

Your design is suffering from the resizing Woot had to do to fit the 580X580 comp limit. If you do the resizing and keep your ratio locked, and resubmit, it'll look a lot better.
