I was just reading through the blog and saw that. I knew it was a rule last week but just looked over it this week. Back to the drawing board.

Is that a rule every week?

Why is North America in on the soccer game? We are notorious for hating that game.

Ooh, nice. The Portuguese Man of War Jellyfish is executed very well. Thank you for doing that instead of just a normal jelly.

I wondered it there would be any cellist around this derby;) Glad you like the red and cranberry, thanks Earlysong!

solz22 wrote:Honestly I have no idea what all you people tater about.. this is VERY well done. VERY VERY nicely shaded and colored with only 6 colors. the expressions on their faces is priceless and i think the shirt itself is hillarious.

if anyone else did this no one would tater.

Please. People tater because it's not a good design. Its colors are solid, but its concept is boring and it's overall just kind of... blah. It's not egregiously, painfully awful, but there is much better work in the fog. The expressions you are referring to are pretty much the same expressions animals have in every single ramyb design, no matter what is happening. Again, people aren't criticizing him. They're criticizing the design, which contains the same problems (not stylistic choices, but problems) his designs tend to have.

Concept and execution. It's not hard to understand. Look at Walmazan's entries, or Tgentry's, or Theinfinityloop's, or Bootsboots', or many more. They're just plain better in many ways.

Have to agree here. If this doesn't make it this time around you should try the same character without the second cat.

I would suggest resubmitting this, with an explanation in the first post explaining it! As the posters above mentioned, I believe this is on-topic because of the Cmajor scale, so if you explain it you should be ok

Now that the tough work of figuring out the colors for this guy is done, I shouldn't have any problem making a bunch of different images.

Honestly, I figured the only way to stand out making a cat image in this derby would be to make a really weird cat.

prestable wrote:Not only is it not a cyborg, it's also not a canary! Canaries are yellow, right?

Have to agree on both those counts, though looking on wikipedia, apparently wild canaries are a yellow-green, and this bird I would say is definitely yellow-green. The red breast though, that's definitely a robin feature!

"The male has a largely yellow-green head and underparts with a yellower forehead, face..."

I love the design though, especially how you made the robot seem metallic by letting some of the green background show through, nice touch. Also the pixellated look of his heart contrasted with the smooth clef of the bird. Green shirt is a good choice.

Don't like it, wouldn't buy it, boring, lazy, cutesy. The only thing going for it is on red. Hell, i'd pay $10 for a blank red shirt before I bought this. Don't understand why it's fogged at all, unless the cutesy minions have been unleashed.
