These are not cats...well they could be. They're dressed in cat costumes so it's hard to say...

These letter derbies must be nice, you can just make a tree design like you always do and call it something abstract that starts with C.

Re: The Cancer V2

I deleted the first version. This is a resub on brown with added color and other changes. I appreciated all the other comments of those you left them on the last design. As I mentioned before, this design has personal meaning in that my father who past around this time last year, was a pack a day smoker. I remember the ash tray with butts all squished up and smoldering. My father died of Cancer. That's what doctors said. I dedicate this design to him.
Feel free to share your story as well and comments. Always open to critique, good or bad.

Here's a link for a larger detail version.

I swear I've seen the concept for this design somewhere before.....oh wait, its at every single diner or restaurant in America. The image of an animal with it's cooked self has been done to death. Imagine a really happy pig with a chef's hat holding a ham. Now take that whole concept, put it in ramy's usual style, and you got his entry.

This is really nice. Wish it was a smidge bigger on the shirt but still, very nice.

I'm usually not really a fan of your art, but this looks really nice. My only gripe would be that when I buy one, the black ink's gonna fade kinda fast on the grey shirt.

Wooo someones getting some halloween practice in. Being honest though, I don't like how it's so linear on the shirt. tjost said he liked how it looks like a tuxedo shirt form far away, but that's actually a negative for me. Love your artwork as usual though and I like the use of the younger dracula. Feels like everyones forgotten that at one point he was a sexy young fellow

bhodges3 wrote:While I certainly couldn't do any better as far as t-shirt design is concerned... I can't help but wonder who in the world would buy and wear this shirt. A cheesecake connoisseur?

Well, in answer to your question, yeah, pretty much, I imagine the people who would buy and wear this shirt are people who like cheesecake ... and possibly people who know me personally and take pity on me, but those are few and far between and apparently don't frequent woot. :-D

And for my own safety, I probably shouldn't mention how many times I've thought the same thing about other shirts in Woot derbies.
No shirt is going to appeal to everyone, but hey, at least this one, you see it and you know what you're looking at.

Re: chupacabra!

Your concept is fun; it made me laugh. The chupacabra has a great feel and I like the shadow and folds on the picnic cloth, but the goats look flat to me, almost like paper cut-outs. Not sure why.

Re: Concentric, Circumference, Circumscribed

I'm not a mathematician, so maybe this would contradict what you're trying to do, but design wise, I feel like you need more to differentiate your lines. Maybe mess with the thickness of the different elements as well as the color?

Re: (my) Cat

The pattern (of the fur?) is intriguing, but in red and on red, with the form of the cat...it looks a little like blood vessels and capillaries and therefor kinda creepy and dead.

Unless that's what you intended, in which case, cool zombie cat ;-)

For the record, regardless of if it were on purpose or not, I got a good laugh out of the use of the word differentiate. I sort of agree with the thickness and color thing, looking at it now, I could have made it a bit more interesting. When I was first designing it I wanted to make the base circle clear, but in retrospect I could have done some more interesting things.

Re: City Crocodile

This is a really fun idea. I think you might get more votes, though, if your croc looked more like a kid. Younger, somehow, maybe fewer 'wrinkles'? Or, you could go the other way and make him more clearly a 'hip grandpa' croc who is clearly young at heart.

Jestik wrote:why is the cat crawling over another cat? I don't get it.

also, maybe something else besides a cat next week?

Cats love to lay on and crawl on each other.

I know some people are tired of cats, but this is a C derby. There are a lot of people here who enjoy cats as animals, and they enjoy drawing and making art about cats. I don't think it's a terrible crime to allow them to enjoy the C derby to it's fullest.

Don't worry, maybe they'll do a D derby next.

I could go for some dog action myself.

That sounded gross.

I like it :D.
