kc6201 wrote:Your version of Cthulhu is actually kind of disturbing (to me at least) because of his humanoid body type.

@SnowQueen: Cthulhu is a character from the lore of H.P. Lovecraft. I only heard of him maybe 5 years ago or so, and that was because of an animation on Newgrounds in which these two little girls had a stuffed Cthulu who they liked to have tea parties with.

Re: Cthulhu's softer side

Thank you Kc! I guess I am going to have to read the lore of H.P. Lovecraft!
It must be pretty great, since so many artists are motivated /inspired by it! If I start drawing cthulhus left and right you'll know, I read it !(But it would have to blow me away, I reeeeally get grossed out by tentacle faces!..maybe thats why I like this cthulhu, He has a super hero type of physique which lessens the hideousness of his knarly tentacle face!...(But I already said and I say again, I Really do love this design.)..It is skillfully rendered and a cool yet still creepy idea!.(goodnight...I have to get off this computer >>>want to watch some good ol' TV. Wish I had that Lovecraft book to read. Will get it.Thanks again!)

While it is a nice looking shirt, I think the artist has probably been working on/or has had this shirt design for quite awhile. He/she then sticks it in this derby after naming it to qualify for the subject......................."Starts with the letter -C-" Give me a break....

Why did you choose to include the contour lines? I think the heart of the illustration is cool, my eye just feels overwhelmed in a way that makes me want to look away instead of look more closely.

Re: Cobra Commander's Catsitting Care!

That's right! Gotta make some extra money on the side to pay for plans for world domination! They not gonna pay for themselves! COBRA!!! This is called parody for all questions per usage.

Also if you want to check the detail version for more... detail... There you go.

Also since serious things are too serious here this submission is for all you cute lovers and lovers of GI Joe when you were a kid!

If you want something more serious check out my other submission "The Cancer".

jamazurunner, brockart, paigeg, BootsBoots, mrwednesday: Thanks! I appreciate your comments! I'm glad you liked it.

Quicksloth: I love maps and contour lines, so I wanted to work those in this week, and yeah, there's a lot going on. I was trying to dance on the line between the various textures carrying the design and overwhelming it. The contours and currents are integral, but the textures could have been a little larger if they seem overwhelming.

Re: Cobra Commander's Catsitting Care!

Is this based on a comic book character? Because no comic book characters was a rule this week...I think that's regardless of parody...Anyway, good job on the artwork...much better than I can do (obviously... apparently my cactus face looks like granny panties :P )

Actually Cobra Commander was a character on a cartoon from the 80's when I was growing up. G.I. Joe. There have been toys, comics, and movies made but I wouldn't call him a comic book character.

Regardless, thanks for the comments and compliment. As to granny panties, some guys actually dig them... ;)

I like the pattern of it, and the placement, but I'm unable to decipher anything out of it. There doesn't seem to be enough of the code present for me to do so.
Can you give us a hint as to what the intended message is supposed to be?

Ok. I was never into comic books so I wasn't sure...just sounded like something that would be in a comic book :P

And the granny panties...some guys dig them huh? Are you saying you're one of those guys? lol maybe I don't wanna go there...
