Walmazan you have a great talent for neatly matching an idea to a theme in avery beguiling way. Plus you know how to handle color. Cool stuff.

I also removed the container box on the shirt so you don't see the lines anymore. Please don't forget to vote for this version instead of the older one, I'll try to get woot to remove the old one too. Thanks everyone!

You have the ability to remove your own entry. Go to the old one.. as you load it.. you should notice a tiny red X to the right of the main container box for the detailed portion of your submission. Click it..you know u want to!

I am also frustrated. Even though this is my first derby, it is very obvious (from watching entries in the past) that some of the most original and intriguing entries get passed up for the played out and simple :/

Its really sad this isn't doing better.
I was proud of this design.
I may need to post it at a site which may appreciate it more or produce myself.
I wish I could remove it from here.
Its hurts to see the neglect.

Don't feel that way Midge, people love your artwork and you are a bold new presence here. The subject is too close to your heart for you to see that it is a subject most people would rather avoid thinking about, but you can be sure that the artwork is appreciated by everyone here.
There are a few hundred designs here, and alot of people vote strictly for what they would buy, (Think about your winged gargoyle guy, everyone loved...)
The history behind the artwork makes it palatable to the masses, the people who don't know the history which you shared in the thread here, can't feel the emotional attachment, just a fear that it could happen to them.(I love this heartfelt tribute to your father. It is a great piece of art )

THANK YOU! I'm so glad you wrote that, because that's what got me to look at the thumbnail. And I'm scrolling through this list of comments about how it's like Shakespeare, and Emily D, and Frost, and who knows what, but the whole time I'm just thinking, "Who let those baobabs get so big?!?! Uproot them, quickly! What are you thinking?!?!"

SnowQueenVT wrote:I love your artwork sgreenip I love the look of the planet Earth and the background sky looks beautiful, plus I learned that comets can create life (basically, right?) Very interesting! After I read HP lovecraft to figure out what a cthulhu is maybe I will study up on comets! Thank you for some science that I can relate to and am interested in!
(Lovely artwork by the way.)

Although the claim that comets create life is really just a hypothesis, many scientists believe that this is one of the few ways (chunks of Mars hitting the Earth is another) that life might have germinated here on our tiny rock out in the middle of nowhere. It's fun stuff to visualize. I visualize you (Snow Queen) on a Tauntaun racing across an icy, snowy terrain chasing down a Wampa with your hair flowing back in the wind and a saber in your hand. (blasters are just so uncivilized)
Thanks for the compliments, snowqueenvt!
And oh, my knowledge of these "cthulhu" is limited, as well, and will begin my research when time permits. (pesky time)

If you want to use it, you can. Sometimes I have to fiddle with the colors to get them to match Woot's template colors, but they're pretty much close enough. I think I have Heather Grey on there too.

Anyone's free to use it if they want.

The tee is on asphalt, right? The background looks like it but the color of the actual shirt in the template is more purple-ish.

sTyLeS wrote:In Woot's defense, the original author didn't make an attempt to clarify the "theme-ness". Also, when you submit a shirt, there's a text box where you can "justify your shirt", and perhaps that also didn't contain anything related to the theme. I don't know. I'm just saying Woot had access to that as well and chose to reject it.

Woot should be looking at the content of entries and not titles - it's obvious those are cranes in clouds, no clarification should be necessary.

IMO of course ;)
