Re: Chili Chompin' Caterpilar on a Cake Plate Cryin'

So.. here he was. This veggie chompin' caterpillar..plowing through my prized peppers! So I thought "I've got something for this slimy inconsiderate slithering no good worm" and placed the hottest chili pepper I could find right in his path! HAH! munch on that!

(All original so hope ya enjoy)

Re: Cigarette voodoo

I hadn't thought about the 5 year old viewer. However, I did have a seven and nine year old on hand for interpretations..

Seven: The gingerbread man on the right has lollipops. One is stuck in his head.

Nine: The voodoo doll on the left is making someone smoke somewhere.

I don't think I scarred then too badly. Then again, they own "Smoking is Dumb" t-shirts.

Fascinating word substitution. What I meant was, their imagination didn't extend past the title to the actual objects depicted...

Re: City

This is actually really good, but your presentation needs a tad bit of work.

First off, remove "The City" text. No text allowed this derby, so it is going to get rejected once someone tattles.

Second, presentation is key. At the very least, remove the color choices in the left corner and the "safe print" box on the shirt. However, I recommend that you display it in a more fashionable way. You can view other peoples entries to get some ideas on how one should go about this. A good place to start is entries in the fog.

I really like this design, but I feel you need to sell it a little better to get the attention of the masses. I hope you don't view this as me being a jerk; I am just trying to help because this has huge potential in my opinion.

Lovin this design.

On a side note, I'll be adding both these cereals to my next shopping list.

Also, I think it may be too similar to a very popular/famous Threadless design called "Stone Jungle," which was also made into Blick wall art:

I'd buy this shirt in a second! Love it.

Sorta strikes me in a Marcel Duchamp kinda way, dunno why it strikes me, it just does.

Sweet stuff.

I'm not an artist, but if I were I would imagine an image with a large "female" ear of corn, perhaps talking or texting on a cell phone, but definitely not paying attention. Three or four smaller ears of corn would be throwing things, breaking things, and just causing havoc. To the right would be a large "female" cabbage giving a condescending look of disgust while its child looks on somewhat mimicking her mother.

The title of course would be "Children of the Corn".

Again, I wish I had drawing skills.

stokastik wrote:Unfortunately, most people who see these such comments are seeing criticism of Ramy for the first time - clearly evident by the abundance of posts saying "I don't understand why all you people are dissing this shirt design! It's the best evarrrr!!"

So really, what you call "regurgitation of past discussions" I would call giving new visitors to these forums the benefit of knowing the full context of Ramy's latest derby submission.

ugh. this is my first time seeing criticism of Ramy and it already reads like regurgitation ... which is actually pretty hilarious considering the main thing you (hypo)critics are picking on is his alleged laziness/lack of originality.

Just an observation, though, it looks more like a raven because of the roughness of the feathers. Fortunately, the Common Raven is Corvus corax, a double C name.

The beak is clearly that of a crow, not a raven. Haven't you ever seen a scruffy-looking crow?

Nice job.
