I always forgot the order of operations in math class---but NEVER with smore operations!

I understand subtracting the stick, but I don't understand not subtracting the fire. Are we supposed to only make s'mores with flaming marshmallows?

Another key ingredient: patience. I frequently get impatient and just start the marshmallow on fire.

I'd like to see this on s'more colors.

I've had many comments about my s'morse code shirt I bought a few months ago.

I like this one, but I don't like white t-shirts... Maybe for my daughter. It would be a great educational t-shirt.

I think I can explain the fire - it's representational of heating the delicious reagents. It isn't meant to suggest you actually have fire as an ingredient.

As this is the simplified form of the smore equation (after all, we don't deal with chocolate brand coefficients or graham cracker isotopes) the duration and temperature aren't included - so be careful if you attempt to recreate this experiment! Always be sure to wear the appropriate safety equipment.

I have a problem with this equation not considering a double-decker s'more. I mean, who uses only ONE marshmallow and chocolate?

And yet this equation should be simpler still. The commutative property of addition overrides any order of operations that the parentheses might be trying to force.

So wait do I carry the marshmallow when I use the distributive property or does that only apply for the graham crackers?

That got me through algebra.

We never subtracted the fire back out! That marshmallow will explode if you overheat it! Oh, that poor, poor marshmallow.

No, sir. The removal of the stick nested within the end of the first parentheses in part makes them necessary. Moreover, it is not appropriate to combine graham cracker with a cold marshmallow, nor to heat it on a stick (were one able to apply a stick to the cracker in a fashion which would produce satisfactory results).

i understand most of this problem, but is there any reason we are adding graham cracker twice? who uses four pieces of graham cracker for one smore? what gives?

PEMDAS is the only one of those school time things I remember. I forgot the one about the solar system... Something about "My Very Elderly Mother..." doing something...
