Well, I don't know that the rules have changed. Granted, Woot may have changed the way that they interpret their rules- that's certainly happened before! It was a public domain photo. It was a black and white photo that I toned. Nothing I used belonged to anyone else. I'd not do it that way now, and I really was a rookie at the time, as was woot. Woot changed the colors when they printed it, so I can't say that it turned out as well as I expected it to. I'm still annoyed at the harassment I took from the designer that took second place (using another name) by only a few votes. That was just underhanded.

not entirely sure, but I think its a nod to another Edgar Allen Poe story called The Black Cat who in the story has its eye plucked out and hung from a noose but keeps coming back. am i rite?

Then if you saw me wearing it, would that make me invisible? Or would you just go blind momentarily?

I think it's adorable in a non-sugary way. One of these days I will own a truffle shirt. This is still climbing, so I have hope.

actually she is a he, and no i didnt copy work. I took a pic of the moon, put some trees at the bottom and overlayed the orange over the moon. Its simple to do, besides how do you explain how i did the text if it wasnt original. Anyway, its like im really going to get to be one of the top 3, go bother your mom.

Yeah, the adjustments are favorable here. Your artwork and style really shines, and this entry is still one of my favorites in this creative derby.

Excellent job. Must be I am a real sap and softy because now that I get the joke, it has got tears coming down my face, so thumbs up. I think if artists want to give tribute to this beloved artist and are able to do it with parody, we all benefit.

tears of laughter or sadness? I can't deal with causing sadness. I'm glad you appreciate the design at second look.

I'd vote for it if you took out the top design and focused on the pumpkin. The witch is cute, but the pumpkin made me laugh and I couldn't tell that they were related.

You are right. The Black Cat is about a man who hated his cat so much he blinded it and hung it. The cat came back with a noose marking around its neck and followed him wherever he went. Not one of my favorite stories, but I love the concept of this shirt!

Really liking this shirt! Its one of the very few designs in this derby that I would purchase. Good because it is not overtly "Halloween."

Good luck!!!

BTW - Is it on a cranberry shirt??

I voted for both of these designs- the existence of the second, better version doesn't change the fact that this is so much more appealing than much of the rest of the derby. Ideally, this would win, and woot would 'accidentally' print the second version. -we can hope, right?

Nice work on the resub! It definitely looks like you put some time into it... My main issue with resubs is when folks are lazy and don't put any substantial work into it the second time around. Good luck!

Shame on you. You didn't even try to alter it. This is a bad habit to get into. Also, if it wasn't for your comment, I would have giving you the benefit of the doubt and said that you took the picture for this website (took the picture WITH the trees). Your comment and the website's words prove to us that your hands are red.

Hah, yeah. I've been around for awhile and you really can never be sure what to expect week by week. Personally, I've been told numerous times by numerous people that my stuff is to detailed, intense, and illustrative for the t-shirt medium, and I'd guess thats the case with this one. Sometimes it'll get through, sometimes not. Those are the breaks. As always though guys, thank you for all the support!
