CrescentDebris wrote:I would ask if you saw the drawing in the pre-derby thread and thought that or was this version the first you saw? I ask because that was my only problem with the original line art but I made changes to it. I made her face bigger, shoulders less broad, slimmed her arms down, shortened her left forearm and a few other details. I think I did everything I could to make her feminine without changing the fact that she's got branches.

Here's a gif that toggles between the original and edited lineart since posting images in thread isn't work at the moment VIEW GIF HERE

I had not seen that before. Thanks for posting that. I think it's just the angular lines and texture you have going on. She's a tree. And tree branches will never look like soft woman arms. If you would soften it any more, it would just look like a brown woman instead of a dryad.

Nice but needs a shirt comp. You can resub.

Re: R.I.P Summer

If you resub, perhaps you could use a different (darker) colour. The pale leaves disappear somewhat on the orange.

I'd wear this to football games XD our mascot is an orange and maroon turkey hehe. really adorable; you emulated construction paper shapes well.

love this shirt! but I don't know if it'll pass due to that rule about "no resubmissions"...

This shirt is amazing. You rock. Too bad artless crap is 50% of woot shirts nowadays (2-minute-to-make cartoon animal shirts)

as stated before, im pretty sure the no resubmissions rules is only resubs from previous derbies, specifically previous autumn derbies. they do not mean resubs where you are making changes to something you did just for this derby.

Have to gripe about the white eyes borrowed from starbucks/spastic squirrel, but a marked improvement nonetheless. Discernible expressions two derbies in a row, way to go!! Still not enough to deserve a print IMHO. But well, the last one did, so this one probably will too. Eh whatever.

Nice! I like the detail/coloring on the leaves and the shading on the tree.

After last week I'm thinking you've got a fascination with the nakie-ness, huh? :-)

I really wish Kdeuce and RamyB teamed up on this one. Keduce's tree is so well done and RamyB concept here is great... I wish I could mash the two together.

Ironic comment, considering last weeks derby.

I'm getting in on this one a couple of days late; I didn't see an entry from kdeuce...?

Anyway, thanks to everyone who commented and voted on the design, I got a kick out of the idea when I thought of it and am happy to see I'm not the only one who can relate to this scenario :P

Oh snap! I love your designs most of the time ramy. And I think you actually do sort through people's nasty comments to try and improve. Some of my favorite shirts on here are from you, and some are from others. I like your cutesy stuff as long as it has humor attached to it, like this one, and like the turtle school that borrowed from Mario. Keep up the good work!

Thats what makes this one special in my opinion. It is a cute cartoon animal, yes. But it's done in a specific style that really sets it apart from the things we usually see that are similar.

He's going to crack his teeth, then he'll really be in trouble. That is unless it doesn't go off first. The IO don't think he needs to worry about anything else.

Great character and fun idea sir.

Re: Autumn Bonsai!

I decided to go Asian with my design this week (with a little French Impressionism tossed in as well.)

The larger leaf in front hopefully gets across the diminutive size of the bonsai tree shedding its leaves in anticipation for winter.

Please enjoy.

Re: Fall Pattern V2

@celia1 - Thanks for such an enthusiastic support on my submission. Unfortunately for you (and for me), this is not the type of design that the majority of woot buyers and voters is looking for. So, the chances of something like this being printed here, are pretty slim, unless it was done by one of the most popular artists here, and even so, I doubt it would happen.

Thanks also to everyone who commented and voted for this entry so far. It´s always rewarding to see your work apreciated.

IN addition, that doesn't appear to be a woot chisrt color background, and I'm pretty sure I'm seeing more than six colors.
Don't get me wrong 0 it's pretty. But read the rules before subbing, K?
