Really nice layout - I love how it flows over the shirt.

Cantatus wrote:I like your color choices. The design reminds me of something I'd see on a Greek vase.

Interesting, I did not have that in mind when I was working on the design. I would have to agree though. I think it has a lot to do with the curves and curles.

Sure. If you find a mistake you can pull your original within 24hrs of posting it. If you miss that deadline, you can submit a 'Version 2' and ask people to re-vote in your comment.

tjost wrote:Good concept Paige and you seem to be getting better with your pieces. A couple things to help you out though for future designs.

1. The background looks like you probably had a art brush and just increased the size so it was huge and painted a fading stroke from bottom left to upper right. While the process is ok, because of the was PS and other programs (except painter) handle the large brush you get noticeable stutter type effects like what you have in your fade. To overcome this you need to zoom in and work with a smaller brush. More tedious but better results.

2. Maybe having more leaves nearer the tree in the air and bringing some of the farthest leaves in a little so that you can increase proportional image size of the tree. Maybe a couple more leaves around the ground to base the tree too, because with the roots exposed like that it looks a bit like the whole tree was uprooted.

3. I know in the prederby thread you talked about making it a lady tree. While I can kind of see that, the small preview size of the image makes it hard to see detail, and maybe add some more highlights on the "curvy" areas to emphasize the womans form ;)

Good job though. Keep it up and you'll continue to get better. +1

Hopefully this got a quality post. It would be nice if more posts were like this instead of complaining about submissions, give tips to improve for next time. I liked the feel of this one too paige.

Re: He fell for her

This is sweet. I think the sheer volume of the leaves is a bit overpowering, making the lower part of the design heavy-seeming. Thinning out the leaves would help it feel lighter, breezier. Just MHO.

Didn't see the first sub, but the colors on this are great. And yeah, either a Greek or Art Deco feel to those curliques. Nice!
I might have nudged the sun over just a tad so it was apparent it was behind the hill - right now they seem to be on a plane. Otherwise, real nice.

DTimeFun wrote:Totally digging this! I agree with Tjost that the swirls aren't really necessary, but nonetheless if I stare at it long enough it turns from fire to an autumn wind.
I really wish this could be on cream, but I like the yellow as well. Not trying to jinx anything but if it doesn't make it or gets an HM maybe the shirt color could be swapped. I hope I don't have to wait that long though. Yellow still looks fine. +1!

I actually really like the swirls, but I wish they took up more area of the shirt (past the tree top to make the entire design more diagonal-oriented), but this is a small quibble. I think the design turned out great, Loop!

This turned out great, Loop!
