Interesting, I did not have that in mind when I was working on the design. I would have to agree though. I think it has a lot to do with the curves and curles.

2. Maybe having more leaves nearer the tree in the air and bringing some of the farthest leaves in a little so that you can increase proportional image size of the tree. Maybe a couple more leaves around the ground to base the tree too, because with the roots exposed like that it looks a bit like the whole tree was uprooted.

3. I know in the prederby thread you talked about making it a lady tree. While I can kind of see that, the small preview size of the image makes it hard to see detail, and maybe add some more highlights on the "curvy" areas to emphasize the womans form ;)

Good job though. Keep it up and you'll continue to get better. +1

This is sweet. I think the sheer volume of the leaves is a bit overpowering, making the lower part of the design heavy-seeming. Thinning out the leaves would help it feel lighter, breezier. Just MHO.

Didn't see the first sub, but the colors on this are great. And yeah, either a Greek or Art Deco feel to those curliques. Nice!
I might have nudged the sun over just a tad so it was apparent it was behind the hill - right now they seem to be on a plane. Otherwise, real nice.

I actually really like the swirls, but I wish they took up more area of the shirt (past the tree top to make the entire design more diagonal-oriented), but this is a small quibble. I think the design turned out great, Loop!
