Re: Games with the Family

The best AND worst part about coming home for the holidays is games with the family. Nothing says happy holidays like, "That's not how you draw a caterpillar, you zombie!"

You may get rejected for text if the rejectionator notices the plus and equals signs in your design.

Re: Decorating the House v. 2 (revote!)

love it..love the concept at least, i just feel it'd be a lot better if there was more colour to the snail. It doesn't really stand up against the brown of the shirt. The only other issue for me is the size and placement - bigger and central, I'm not a big fan of pocket placed designs and as far as i know they tend to get lesser votes here too. Good work with the design though!

Re: I'll leave the porch light on (1.5)

Hey jauntyeyepatch, I really like your design. Big Who fan here. It'd make a brilliant Christmas card too.

Unfortunately Woot always rejects Tardis designs that don't have some parody. The BBC copyrighted the police box design some years back, and so using it is the same as using Mickey Mouse or R2D2.

Awarded my first comment for actually getting emotional content in a Woot shirt.

A bandolier of carrots would be appreciated about now

Re: Turkey

man this is awesome!

true story: the turkey is called "India" in Turkey. Well, in Turkish the word for India is "Hindi" but same thing. haha!

I found this out from a former exchange student from Turkey when I asked him what they call turkeys in Turkey.

(other countries also do this, because of confusion/comparison with another similar bird from India, the guinea-fowl, I believe, whatever that is).

and then I found 5 dollars. hope this prints. GMV!

I don't know what it is, but the fact that you have a light on in the house adds tons to this design. Nice work!

Re: Home Early for the Holidays

(To the tune of Walkin in a Winter Wonderland)

Lacey things, the wife is missing.
Didn't ask, for her permission
I'm wearing her clothes,
her silk panty hose.
Walking around in women's underwear.

In the store, there's a teddy.
With little straps, like spagetti.
It holds me so tight,
like handcuffs at night.
Walking around in womens underwear

In the office there's a guy named Melvin.
He pretends that I am Murphy Brown.
He'll say "Are you ready?"
I'll say, "Woah man! Lets wait untill the wife is out of town."
Later on, if you wanna,
We can dress, like Madonna.
Put on some eye shade, and join the parade.
Walking around in women's underwear.

I know they say that things aren't funny if you have to explain them, but it really only take one previous image to make this really funny.

I agree. And I was hoping that this shirt could be a tiny protest or statement one could wear, not just at the holidays but means most now for many. Thanks for the love!

Thanks. Honestly, that was merely accidental and was done for asthetics but now means more after realizing what that means in context.

I LOVE this. Are the black lenses a reference to when Ralphie was struck blind by soap poisoning?

Re: Warm and Cozy

I don't like this shirt. It doesn't make sense, it isn't clever, and it's really just exploitative like almost all of Ramy's designs... I also don't like how this turtle's eyes were gouged out and replaced with the black, lifeless beads they use on teddy bears.

Re: results for home for the holidays

I love this. I won't buy it though, people have enough trouble understanding my other Woot shirt using internet maps as a subject without getting a good, close look (you know, the "Bad Directions" shirt). I feel wearing this will yield more "Why are you wearing a Google Maps shirt?" questions, and less "Hey, nice Google Maps Christmas tree.".

Touche, my friend. Touche.

I would have said something along the lines of "beating the Tardis into an ill-fitting mold." ;)

*shrugs* Yeah, I don't have particularly high hopes for it getting much further, but it was fun, yanno? And like you said, it can always be a fun Christmas card.

My only question is that since the Tardis is copyrighted, then how did the "it came out of nowhere" shirt, (which is a marvelous shirt) stay in the reckoning? It uses two copyrighted icons in that one. Am I missing something extremely obvious?
