Are you using the brush tool or the pencil tool? The pencil tool gives you hard edges while the brush tool gives you aliased edges.

Re: World Leader

First they took our jobs. Then they damaged our world with pollutants to a point where it could barely sustain life. What's next?!?

And yes, the text is incidental. It is just there to add more depth to the piece, meaning that the robots don't fully understand the world, the culture, they have inherited.

Wish I got this in sooner. Hope you all enjoy.

*EDIT ...lots of boo boo in that typing. Too late I guess.

mrwednesday wrote:There's a pretty massive disconnect between the anterior of the dragon and the posterior. The way you have drawn it, the dragon's body is sweeping counter-clockwise in a spiral so that we see the dorsal side of the anterior and the dorsal side of the posterior.

Here's the problem, the steam vents spiral the other way onto the ventral side. If you drew it in profile they would spiral from the back to the stomach and it looks really awkward.

Now it's entirely possible you meant for us to be looking at the ventral side of the posterior. If this is the case the feet are upside down. You've also shown absolutely no transition from dorsal to ventral that would make me think that was the case.

Before the congratulations parade gets too far along, this suffers from the same sloppiness and lack of consistency as most of your entries. The way you've spiraled out the steam vents the crest of the back turns into its side once you get near the rear legs. The execution is amateur at best and these are certainly not mistakes you should still be making.

...or perhaps the vents do not carry on? *shrugs* only the artist would really know what is to be portrayed i suppose.

Hmm, sorry it's not more clear! The drawing is supposed to add a robotic touch to a simple coffee vending machine

I´m not an usual fan of your designs, despite recognizing your skills, so I don´t remember the last time I voted for one of your designs, if ever. But this week it will be different. Cool concept, well executed and colored.

Glad to see that the monocle I was missing in your Acorn´s Repose design, was not neglected this time. It just makes everything more respectable.

Oh, OK. I know. But couldn't he keep at least one, like singing on his shoulder? Just to lighten the mood.

Forgot to mention that he's unpacking, not packing. ;)

Thanks again for the supporting/commenting/whatnot-ing, everyone.

Re: Locked and Loaded

If you ever plan on reworking this design, and don´t mind my suggestion, please change the skull. To me, it just seems something that it doesn´t fit with the rest. The type of lines are different, more "sketchy", and it has no shading, like it was "glued" after the illustration was finished.

Nice concept and execution. Would probably prefer with a less muted color pallete, so it doesn´t get so "lost" on the t-shirt, but either way it gets my vote.

I actually did rework it and resubbed it yesterday. Let me know what you think of that one. I think the reason it appears different is because the black lines of the skull are removed to make it appear in the glass dome.

I would love to hear any feedback on this design. I had a real hard time picking the color combination. As a result, here are some alternate looks for this submission. I am considering posting one of them as a different version. Any thoughts?

Because of the color it doesn´t stand out so much, but I still think it should have thinner, more stylized lines to match the comics style of the illustration.
