Hi icedancer79, check out the Submit a Derby Entry page, you should be able to download the official heather grey texture (included as part of the Illustrator file, available as a separate PNG if you're using Photoshop).

I see you got rejected for the same thing I did...baffles me they don't know their own colors and templates....love your design though

Re: Velociraptors love cupcakes!

I like this, but that looks more like a tyrannosaurus than a velociraptor because it has a shorter body and is lacking the foot claws that are rather iconic of velociraptors.

Besides that, it's great linework and very impressively done.

I did downloaded that's what I used the only thing I did is just added some shadows that's why I don't get it...it's the template they provided

I like the shirt and ink colors you went with, it has a very whimsical look to it.

I really like this, but I almost think I would like it better without the raincloud.

Did you use the heather gray texture provided, or just the gray color? The texture is the key thing we need.

Thanks paige.
I'm pretty sure it's centered...or at least it's supposed to be.
Maybe it looks funky because I cut off the side of the shirt when I placed the shirt on the comp image? Hrm.

+1. Amazing face, so expressive. This should have way more votes. Big round shapes like the headdress are extremely flattering to men's chests, too--I think this would look great worn.

This looks great. It may not be fully hand-drawn cause of the use of filters or halftones or whatever, but it definitely looks time-consuming and complex. Definitely can't do this with just a few simple filters in 5 minutes.

Re: rain dancer

I don't want to be rude, but I fail to see the appeal of this design. It looks quite rushed and uninspired. This is a giant block of ink with random scratches coupled with more scratches that is supposed to be rain falling on a "clip artish" silhouette of a girl who's not even "dancing." She just seems to be standing there just getting soaked. Where's the crosshatching technique or "soul" of this design?

Re: Code Rain

Plus, this ain't crosshatching. Plus... well, I think this became a pile-on after jwaal's post, really.
