Hahahaha, wait where is this placed, cause I don't want to wear a boob stashe. Hopefully very high cause low would make them seem like eyes above the mustache.

I like this departure from your usual style. It works really well as the design comes across as rather striking.

I like. I also like the Idea of resubing to avoid the thumbnail/shirt comp rejection with a colorful shirt.

Drak, you know I absolutely love your artwork and this is no exception. I like the idea and the execution, save for the colors. Is it possible to change it to a lighter color on the cranberry? The awesomeness of this design gets a bit lost as black on cranberry.

Re: butterfly swarm

Needs to be on the heather grey template...and a close up to show the hatching might be a good idea.

I love it! The only thing that bothers me a little is the shape of the bottom jar, the bottom line looks too square. Otherwise, nicely done and great subject matter.

Something's a little off in the finish line, right behind the winning snail's shell. It looks like it was originally meant to be the end part or "tail" of one of the snails.

Other than that, wicked cool design.

Re: A Beastiary

I don't know why the comments I put in the box when I upload aren't showing up, but this was inspired by woodcuts in medieval manuscripts featuring strange animals.

The whole design can be seen at actual size here.

The animals, from top to bottom:
Amphisbaena
Basilisk
Catoblepas

I think he tried submitting this to threadless with the same results... it's a tough break but the online T shirt industry is very interconnected. Don't feel too bad, I had a design ready for this contest and then found out like the exact same thing had already been done through DBH... don't lose heart, it's still a good picture and better done IMO.

You might want to resub and get rid of the "1" on the rabbit's chest.

This is a resub, my first design didn't have the heather gray in the background of large design, and I put in a zoomed-in thumbnail to show more of the crosshatching details in the butterfly.

I like your style, but the composition really comes off more like a modern politcal cartoon than the Baron Von Munchausen-ish battle whimsy I feel you were trying to achieve.

Re: hoot

I love the design. A lot.
However, I hate the placement and size.
I would buy this in a heartbeat if you resized the image smaller and placed it somewhere cooler or more appealing. I think it may get more votes that way, too.

Awesome drawing though. Love that part a lot.

Unfortunately this one also doesn't have the heather gray template either. It needs the actual texture (you'll see it as the last link on the left on the submission page).
